This week we began a 6-week Bible study, Salt, Soil, Seawater: A Feast of Creation / Creation in Christ. During this study and through Sunday morning worship, we will focus on Genesis 1:1 - 2:20, along with New Testament scriptures of application through the teachings of Jesus as he walked with the Disciples.
Book of Genesis (1:1, 3-4):
In the beginning… God said: Let there be light, and there
was light. God saw that the light was good. God then
separated the light from the darkness.
Have you ever thought what this describes? God created Light to separate darkness, yet He had not yet created the Sun and the Moon. Several Commentaries reflect that God referred to the Light of Jesus to save us from darkness even from the very beginning....
Reflect this week on How you reflect His Light.
We closed with this prayer for the week:
Praise God, Praise the Creator! Praise God from the heavens and on the heights! Sun and moon, praise God! All of you bright stars, praise God! All the creatures of the land and seas, praise God! All the humans, young and old, praise God! Let all praise God the Creator, for God gave the command and they were created! Gpd set all things in place, and in good order forever and ever, Amen.
