The Women’s Auxiliary organizes two fundraising efforts throughout the year.
● Annual Fall Fundraiser, “Hope Has An Army”
● Annual Spring Garage Sale at the Citadel
Money from these two events goes toward the Tree of Lights Campaign, scholarships of women’s ministry camps, and various Salvation Army programs and facilities. All funds raised by the Women’s Auxiliary stay local to benefit those in need in the Tri-County region. In the past twelve years alone, The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary has raised and donated over $1,028,200 to the Tree of Lights Campaign. The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary supports Salvation Army Programs by volunteering in many ways throughout the year:
● Serving Lunch With Love once a month at the Sylvia Fites Center.
● Setting up and assisting at the three-day Christmas Toy Shop at the Citadel.
● Red Stocking Stuffer: Stuffing over 1000 stockings for The Peoria Journal Star that are handed out to needy children in the Tri-County area.
● Red Stocking Party: Volunteering as helpers at this Christmas party for families hosted by the Peoria Journal Star at the Civic Center.
● Helping to count money donated to the Red Kettles during the Christmas Season.
● Planting spring plants and flowers at The Army’s Eagle Crest Camp.
● Decorating tables at the Annual Community Luncheon.
● Praying for The Salvation Army, its staff, and our auxiliary
members. The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary promotes, believes in, and is dedicated to their Salvation Army volunteer work because they believe in the Army’s mission of “Doing the Most Good”.
