Don't forget to submit your nominations for our June Yard of the Month Award. Let's get submissions in by June 6th so we have a few days to vote. Our only rule is that the home you nominate has to be within our neighborhood's boundaries. The resident doesn't need to be an active participant in our activities, they can be a renter or homeowner, and they don't have to have a fancy yard--just a tidy one!

As we move into summer, crime tends to go up and we want you to find out how to protect your family and property. We talked last month about fire safety and this month we are going to focus on family safety. That means we will talk about how to keep your home and car secure, making sure your kids know what to do in an emergency, and discussing traffic/speeding issues.
The guest speaker for our June 11th meeting will be a representative of the Peoria Police Department who will be able to address this topic. We hope you will take time out of your schedule to join us in the discussion. Stay safe out there!

Your neighbors voted 808 W. Hanssler as our May 2026 Yard of the Month. They were given a yard sign to display (if they choose to do so), and a note of thanks for doing their part to keep up with curb appeal in our neighborhood.
If you think your neighbor deserves this award for June, you can message us with your nomination. Voting will take place in our private FB group for neighborhood residents, and the winner will be announced at our next meeting on June 11th.

Battery fires are on the rise. All batteries are banned from landfills. 🪫

We're making it easier to dispose of batteries the right way. Peoria County Sustainability and Resource Conservation is facilitating free collection in partnership with The Battery Network.

FREE dropoff boxes are currently at Health & Human Services and all 12 Peoria Fire Department stations. Accepted batteries include household, cell phone, and rechargeable.
