Friday July 11 & Saturday July 12 - Peoria Area Clothes Drive 2025 at IFP Community Center

Project Dunya, in collaboration with the Islamic Foundation of Peoria (IFP), is organizing a Festive & Essential Clothing Drive to support families in need with dignity and compassion, Insha’Allah.

*Why Donate?*
Your donated clothes won’t just sit in closets—they’ll be cherished by refugees, orphans, and families struggling with poverty. Every item is a chance to bring joy, restore dignity, and lighten someone’s burden.

*Drop-Off Location:*

*Drop-Off Times:*
Friday, July 11 – 2.00 (After Jumu'ah) Till 6.30 pm (Asr)
Saturday, July 12 – Dhuhr 1.15 pm to 8.30 pm (Maghrib)

*How to Donate:*
Please donate only brand-new or gently used clothing and items that are clean, presentable, and in gift-worthy condition.

- Wash, iron/fold, and sort at home
- Label items by category (Men, Women, Kids, etc.)
- Pack into plastic bags
- Bring to IFP during drop-off times
- Donate what you can to support shipping costs

We'll also have a QR code available at the site for quick and secure donations!

Men/Boys (age 2+): Pants, Shirts, Suits, Thobes, Shalwar Kameez, Kurtas, Pajamas, Sherwanis, Belts, Lungis

Women/Girls (age 2+): Hijabs, Abayas, Shalwar Kameez, Party Dresses, Tops, Pants, Leggings, Scarves, Shawls, Handbags, Jewelry

Babies (under 2): Clothing, Blankets, Diapers, Wraps

Winterwear (all): Coats, Jackets, Hoodies, Gloves, Mufflers, Socks, Sweaters

*We cannot accept:*
- Items in cartons or luggage bags
- Used undergarments
- Liquids, gels, medicine, or supplements
- Books, CDs/DVDs
- Glassware, home décor, or electronics

Friday 7/4 - Community Program: Between Mūsā and al-Ḥusayn – A Tale of Resistance and Reliance

Join us for a timely Muḥarram reflection on the ʿĀshūrāʾ legacy, exploring the powerful *lives of Prophet Mūsā (peace and blessings upon him) and al-Imām Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī (peace and blessings upon them).*

Their stories echo a shared spirit of resistance against oppression and standing firm with truth.

*Imam Mazhar Mahmood will highlight the significance of ʿĀshūrāʾ — not just as a day of fasting, but as a moment to reconnect with our values, our history, and the ongoing struggles of the Ummah.*
