Cathy Engelbert is stepping down as WNBA Commissioner.

Apparently, it’s easier to step down and ignore the biggest issue of the day regarding what the "W" in the "W"NBA stands for than to simply answer what the "W" in the "W"NBA stands for.

Maybe her replacement can finally answer the question she couldn’t:

What is a woman?

It shouldn’t be this difficult.

I’m with President Trump on this one.

America cannot dominate AI while fighting the infrastructure required to power AI.

China isn’t going to stop building because we’re scared of data centers.

So build them.

Build the data centers. Build more power generation. Strengthen the grid.

But don’t make ordinary Americans pay higher electric bills so Big Tech can win the AI race.

Innovation isn’t the enemy. Bad planning is.

America should lead the AI revolution; and we should be smart enough to build the infrastructure to do it.

We have confused being offended with being wronged.

Someone disagreeing with you isn't oppression.

Someone criticizing your beliefs isn't hatred.

Someone refusing to affirm you isn't violence.

And someone saying something that hurts your feelings hasn't violated your rights.

Freedom doesn't guarantee you affirmation.

It guarantees everyone else the right to tell you no.

63 years ago today, Martin Luther King Jr. stood at the Lincoln Memorial and called America to live up to her own ideals.

Not to abandon them. Not to tear the country down.

To finally make the promise of American liberty apply equally to every American.

Today, politicians and activists returned to the same place — except now we're hearing that America is a “dictatorship,” alongside the same tired calls for socialism and an ever-expanding government.

That's quite a contrast.

The generation of 1963 demanded that America's promises of liberty and equality be honored.

Too much of today's political movement treats America herself as the problem.

MLK's argument wasn't that America's founding principles had failed.

It was that America had failed to live up to them.

There's a massive difference.

Tolerance does not require agreement.

Somewhere along the way, we confused respecting someone's right to believe something with being required to affirm what they believe.

That's not tolerance. Real tolerance only exists when disagreement is allowed.

You don't have to agree with me to respect my freedom. And I don't have to agree with you to respect yours.

That's how a free society works.

Wait a minute.

The WNBA says Royce White and Enes Kanter Freedom are essentially pretending to be women.

But who are they to decide who's pretending?

They won't even define what a woman is.

If biological s*x doesn't determine whether someone is a woman, and a person's gender identity must be accepted as legitimate, then what objective standard makes Royce and Enes different?

“They're obviously trolling” isn't an answer.

That's the entire point of the stunt.

You can't abandon the definition of “woman” and then quietly enforce that definition when the consequences of your own logic become inconvenient.

Define a woman; then apply the definition consistently.

Someone explain the rules to me.

Dylan Mulvaney is a woman because Dylan says so.

Royce White says he’s a woman and wants to enter the WNBA Draft.

Suddenly, that doesn’t count. Why?

You don’t get to demand that everyone accept self-identification as unquestionable, then demand objective standards the moment someone applies your own logic consistently.

Either biological s*x matters or it doesn’t.

Pick one.

There's something you see all the time in today’s culture and politics.

If you have a strong argument, you should be able to defend it.

Sadly, if you can't defend it, it’s easier to attack the person challenging it.

So you mock them, dismiss them, question their credibility. Anything to avoid defending the actual point or answering the question at hand.

It's avoidance dressed up as confidence.

A strong argument doesn’t need personal attacks.

When you abandon the argument to attack the person instead, you usually reveal one thing: you’ve run out of ground to stand on.

Well, Matt Walsh refused my open invitation to debate him today.

Was anything accomplished? Of course not. Imagine that!

I simply called him out again and invited him to have an actual conversation with my wife and me about postpartum psychosis.

Why us? Because we lived it and survived it.

His answer, after dismissing it several times in back-and-forth, viral posts on X?

No. We're just “some random guy and his wife.” That's "weird."

And that's what bothers me the most about this entire topic.

You don't have to agree with us. You don't have to excuse what Lindsay Clancy did. I certainly don't. There are consequences for actions, and justice must be served.

But if you're going to speak with absolute certainty about postpartum mental illness to millions of people and act like you're the authority on the matter, shouldn't you at least be willing to listen to someone who has actually survived it?

Understanding is not excusing. Also, lived experience doesn't suddenly become irrelevant because the people who have it aren't famous enough to sit across from you.

Ronald Reagan understood that freedom has an expiration date if nobody is willing to defend it.

Every generation inherits freedoms it did not create and institutions it did not build.

The question is what we do with them.

Do we preserve them?
Do we teach our children why they matter?
Or do we slowly surrender them because defending them became inconvenient?

Freedom is inherited only when it is first defended.

Our generation gets a turn.
