A nation is allowed to have a border.

Legal immigration and illegal immigration are not the same thing.

Compassion for people and enforcement of immigration law are not mutually exclusive.

We can debate how immigration law should work. We can debate enforcement priorities, asylum policy, legal pathways, and what reforms are needed.

But pretending that enforcing a nation's immigration laws is inherently hatred shuts down the debate instead of having it.

Borders are not hatred. Laws are not hatred. And disagreement is not hatred.

Okay. Then deportation is transportation.

Obviously, changing the vocabulary doesn't settle whether either action is right or wrong. And that's exactly the point.

We've become very good at replacing uncomfortable realities with comfortable language.

Call something “healthcare.”
Call something “reproductive freedom.”
Call something “transportation.”

The label doesn't answer the moral question.

Changing the words doesn't change the reality.

America doesn't have a Constitution problem.

America has a constitutional literacy problem.

Everybody loves quoting the Constitution when they think it proves their point.

Far fewer people have actually read it.

We argue about rights without understanding where they come from. We argue about presidential power without understanding its limits. We demand Congress act while barely understanding what Congress was designed to do. And we talk endlessly about “democracy” while forgetting that our constitutional system deliberately divides power among institutions.

The Constitution isn't a patriotic prop.

It's the framework under which this country governs itself.

And a free people cannot defend a system they don't understand.

Good intentions don't erase bad consequences.

We’ve developed a strange habit of judging decisions by what someone meant to accomplish instead of what actually happened.

Intent matters. But so do results.

A bad policy doesn’t become good because it was well-intentioned.

A bad decision doesn’t become wise because someone meant well.

And hurting someone doesn’t disappear because you didn’t mean to.

Intentions explain actions. They don’t erase consequences.

That's common sense worth reclaiming.

25 years later, the most disturbing part of 9/11 may be how much Washington knew beforehand.

Documents declassified today reveal years of intelligence warnings about Osama bin Laden, including possible attacks inside America and hijackings.

And yet September 11 still happened.

This isn't about rewriting history to blame one president. The warnings crossed administrations and agencies.

Here's the lesson: Evil doesn’t become less dangerous because leaders fail to take it seriously.

“Never Forget” should include remembering the failures that allowed evil to reach our shores.
