Yes, the Continental Congress prayed.

The Founders openly acknowledged God, Providence, morality, and liberty throughout the founding era.

Prayer meetings were held. Days of thanksgiving and fasting were proclaimed. Rights were understood to come from a Creator — not government.

That historical reality makes many uncomfortable today. It is still historically true.

They preach tolerance — until someone disagrees.

They demand inclusion — until your beliefs challenge theirs.

They claim peace — but too often excuse intimidation, censorship, or violence when confronted with opposing views.

Violence is not an argument.

The men who helped build America were not superheroes.

They were ordinary men with families, fears, responsibilities, and flaws.

Yet they were willing to risk comfort, reputation, safety, and even their lives for liberty.

Strong nations are not built by perfect people. They are built by courageous people willing to do hard things.

On May 10, 1775, delegates from the American colonies gathered in Philadelphia for the Second Continental Congress.

Most believed they were seeking peace and resolution with Britain.

Few realized they were stepping into a moment that would eventually change human history forever.

Before there was independence, there was resistance. Before there was freedom, there was sacrifice.

America did not suddenly appear on July 4, 1776.

The road to independence began long before then — through resistance, sacrifice, courage, and conviction.

Sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones that save your life.

Two years ago this week, we came to Pensacola Beach exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected, and needing space to breathe after the darkest season of our lives.

Nobody knew we were here except immediate family. To this day, not many know about that trip until sharing about it now.

For 10 days, we unplugged from everything and reconnected as husband, wife, and family.

On May 9, 2024, we drove back to our makeshift home in Indiana with a decision already made:

We were starting over.

Few knew about this decision, but most of them thought we were running away.

We weren’t running.
We were rebuilding — from the ground up.

Within 5 weeks, we spent all the money we had and moved our entire life to Florida.

It was one of the hardest, most stressful, and most important decisions we’ve ever made.

But sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones that change your life for the better.

I trusted God, trusted my instincts, protected my family, and built the life we wanted anyway.

That decision shaped me into the man I am today and helped begin the process of building Hard Way Wisdom.

Massachusetts hasn’t had a Republican member of Congress in 30 years.

Yet nobody calls THAT “gerrymandering.”

But the second Republicans redraw maps in conservative states?

Suddenly democracy is “under attack.”

Funny how that works.

What does it actually look like for Christians to honor government in today’s culture?

Life gets a lot clearer when you stop avoiding hard truth.

Parenting is hard.
Marriage is hard.
Building something that matters is hard.

You won’t feel ready.
You won’t have it all together.
Life won’t be perfect when you start.

That’s the lie people believe —
that everything has to be stable, easy, and figured out first.

It doesn’t.

Relationships take work.
Marriage takes sacrifice.
Parenting takes everything you’ve got.

Starting a business?
Risk. Pressure. Long days. No guarantees.

Most people aren’t waiting because they “can’t”…
they’re waiting because it demands more than they’re willing to give.

Truth is, the things that matter most in life aren’t easy — they’re earned.

The gospel says “done.”

And the resurrection proved it.

That changes everything.

If this is true, it’s not just something to believe. It’s something to live from.

Modern culture calls masculinity toxic.

But look at what’s happening in its absence.

Less leadership.
Less responsibility.
Less protection.

The problem isn’t masculinity.

It’s the lack of it.
