THIS Baptism That Now Saves
Lesson scripture: 1 Peter 3:18-21
Ephesians 4:4-5
Acts 2:36
There is only one Lord.
If there is only one Lord, there can only be one faith.
People struggle with loving themselves, so they don't love others.
We must teach our youth to love God.
If you got the right Lord and the right faith, you will have the right baptism.
Baptism is an appeal to God for a good conscience.
The Greek word for baptism, Baptizo, means immerse.
Hebrews 10:22
In 1 Peter, Peter uses the example of Noah and the flood.
The world we are living in today is a new world. The old world was destroyed by water.
Peter talks about the one baptism everyone in the New Testament was saved by.
Everyone who passed away is waiting in Hades for the judgement. Both the ones in Christ and the ones not in Christ.
We must get it right while we have time.
Once we are in the grave, there is nothing more we can do.
Whether in the old world or the new world, the heart of man never changes.
Genesis 6:5-6
Sin has a way of binding you. Jesus is the only one Who can set you free from sin.
1 Peter 3:20: the people were disobedient, but God was long suffering while the ark was being built.
Peter is explaining to us which baptism.
Exodus 30:18

Baptism is a legal appeal to God.
The sinner's prayer, the mourner's bench, and other methods cannot save us.
Colossians 2:11-12

1. Baptism is how we ask God for forgiveness and how we connect with Jesus.
2. Baptism is a condition of God's grace. Ephesians 2:8
3. We must believe in the Lord, repent of our sins, confess, and be baptized.
There are a lot of baptisms out there, but you must have the right one.
Cornelius in Acts 10 was not saved because of his money or good works. He had to get baptized.
