Lesson scripture: Genesis 3:1-13

Genesis 3:1-9

God says something, but people would rather listen to other folks.

Some of us listen to the wrong people and end of in the wrong place.

God wanted to know who told them they were naked.

We have to be able to keep the devil out of our ear.

We have to always know where we are in terms of our soul and salvation.

1 Timothy 4:1-2

People keep listening to the wrong information and never question it.

Eve gave heed to the serpent. Adam gave heed to his wife.

Once God speaks to us, it's finished!

We don't have to add anything to the plan of salvation.

God tells us in the book of Acts how to be saved.

How do we keep the devil out of our ear?

-The devil uses snake talk.
-The devil whispers sweet nothings in our ear.
-Fool talk
-Deceitfulness
-Lies

Who is the snake?

Revelation 12:9

Satan can deceive the whole world.

2 Corinthians 11:12-15

There are no more apostles living. To be an apostle, you must have walked with Jesus.

Good hearted people end of meeting people that make merchandise of them.

Luke 12:16-20

2 Thessalonians 2:8-10

John 8:44

Eve wanted to hear she can eat from the tree! We want to worship anyway we want to!

If Peter and the apostle preached a feel good sermon, the people in Acts 2 would not have been convicted and been saved.

The religious leaders during the time of Jesus were used to telling the people lies.

We would never make it to heaven on anyone's coattails.

People will never return to the Lord if they don't examine themselves.

We must consider our ways.

Where are you right now where it pertains to your soul and salvation?

Lesson scripture: Matthew 19:13-14

Why do children matter? They matter because Jesus said so.

Jesus said children should be seen and heard.

Colossians 3:21

The rod of instruction or correction should not be the only tool.

Parents should not set impossible goals for their children.

Don't play favorites with siblings.

Don't discipline out of rage.

There are ways to discipline like talking. It is not always about the belt!

Ephesians 6:4

Parents, show steady love and teach with patience.

Jeremiah 1:5

Psalms 139:13-16

Psalms 127:3

God commands parents to do right by them.

Matthew 18:6

Love your children. Take advantage of the time you have with them.

Children are to honor their father and mother and to remember the Creator when they are young.

From Degenerate To Regenerate
Lesson scripture: Titus 3:5

People are in a degenerate (dead) state when not in Christ.

You can't pray your way to get in Christ.
You can't pay your way to get in Christ.
You can't do good deeds to get in Christ.
You must be baptized to get in Christ.

When you are in Christ, you become regenerate (alive).

Galatians 3:27

Mark 16:16

There is nothing that we can do or say to be right with God.

1 Peter 3:21

Ephesians 4:5

You must eliminate the static in your life to hear God.

When are we going to spend time with the Lord?

Titus 3:5 "the washing of regeneration"

The word of God offers us assurance.

It is best to be in the Lord when you sin. All you need to do is repent.

Acts 2:40 "corrupt generation"

Being regenered in Christ is a spiritual rebirth.

John 3:3, 5

When you die, you can't fix nothing from the grave.

If you could get saved by saying the sinners prayer, Jesus would have said so.

Romans 6:3-6

2 Corinthians 5:17

In Christ, the urgency is NOW! We don't have time to play around.

1. In Christ, we must think differently.
2. In Christ, we must behave differently.
3. In Christ, we must be able to speak differently.
4. In Christ, we must worship differently.
5. In Christ, we must come to love differently.

THIS Baptism That Now Saves
Lesson scripture: 1 Peter 3:18-21

Ephesians 4:4-5

Acts 2:36

There is only one Lord.

If there is only one Lord, there can only be one faith.

People struggle with loving themselves, so they don't love others.

We must teach our youth to love God.

If you got the right Lord and the right faith, you will have the right baptism.

Baptism is an appeal to God for a good conscience.

The Greek word for baptism, Baptizo, means immerse.

Hebrews 10:22

In 1 Peter, Peter uses the example of Noah and the flood.

The world we are living in today is a new world. The old world was destroyed by water.

Peter talks about the one baptism everyone in the New Testament was saved by.

Everyone who passed away is waiting in Hades for the judgement. Both the ones in Christ and the ones not in Christ.

We must get it right while we have time.

Once we are in the grave, there is nothing more we can do.

Whether in the old world or the new world, the heart of man never changes.

Genesis 6:5-6

Sin has a way of binding you. Jesus is the only one Who can set you free from sin.

1 Peter 3:20: the people were disobedient, but God was long suffering while the ark was being built.

Peter is explaining to us which baptism.

Exodus 30:18

Acts 22:16

Baptism is a legal appeal to God.

The sinner's prayer, the mourner's bench, and other methods cannot save us.

Colossians 2:11-12

Galatians 3:27

1. Baptism is how we ask God for forgiveness and how we connect with Jesus.
2. Baptism is a condition of God's grace. Ephesians 2:8
3. We must believe in the Lord, repent of our sins, confess, and be baptized.

There are a lot of baptisms out there, but you must have the right one.

Cornelius in Acts 10 was not saved because of his money or good works. He had to get baptized.
