Exciting Updates from Mission Recovery!

We’re excited to share that Mission Recovery is in the final stages of completing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. We’ve secured our own property and are in the process of establishing Camp Recovery, a critical hub for ongoing relief efforts. However, building our infrastructure, supporting local residents, and contending with the challenges of winter will require us to temporarily operate from various locations to ensure uninterrupted support for the community.

We want to express our deepest gratitude to Camp Miller FOB for providing us with a base of operations and invaluable lessons during this journey. Your support has been instrumental in helping us grow and better serve the survivors of Hurricane Helene.

As we move forward, we remain committed to collaborating with organizations across the area to make a lasting impact. If you’d like to support our mission, please consider donating, volunteering, or spreading the word. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for standing with us. Together, we’re stronger.

Welcome to Camp Recovery.

25 years in the making, working and documenting hundreds of non profits, charity events, Foundations and natural disasters.

There were some that I observed and admired in the ways they worked in their communities, they valued their volunteers, they honored those that made sacrifices and served their countries.

An event of any size should never be about a celebrity or a pro athlete. It should always maintain integrity with the focus on the cause of the event. Don't get me wrong, I love having those celebrities to reach more of an audience, or a music icon, but why would I want to compromise that special moment for a few minutes of "being cool." Well, I don't. And thats why I started 25 years ago, the vision, knowing what I wanted to build. I just didn't know what vehicle would allow me to do it.

Camp Recovery is that outlet. When Hurricane Helene made its way to land, I watched from our home in around Charlotte, NC. We had some damage, close to 35 trees that fell. But something was wrong, I could feel it. Something was calling me to the mountains.

When I finally made it to Pensacola, NC, I broke. Seeing people in the community riding on lawnmowers to the donation centers cause their cars were washed away. Seeing people in tents and sides of home ripped from the rest of the house and no where to be found... Seeing churches filled with 6-8 feet of debris, rocks, mud and trees. It's a horrible feeling I have every time I get ready to leave, back to my normal.

I love this community. I love the people here. I have made some new friends and enjoy the weekly get-togethers with survivors from this community. We have found ways to help that I could have never imagined. We serve a God that has shown me time and time again, the love, the grace, the understanding, the strength.

This is what Camp Recovery is about. What started as a Foundation name of Mission Recovery has now branched off into a whole new mission... Recovery. With every MISSION, there is a RECOVERY.

What better way to serve the folks of Western North Carolina that to help complete the mission of RECOVERY.

Welcome to Camp Recovery.
