Today’s reading offers both comfort and challenge. The Christian life does not exempt us from suffering, disappointment, or struggle. In fact, Scripture reminds us that these trials are often part of the journey of discipleship.

The question is not whether difficulties will come, but how we will respond when they do. Will we allow hardship to draw us closer to Christ, deepen our trust, and strengthen our faith? Or will we become discouraged and lose sight of His presence?

St. Peter encourages us to see our trials through the lens of hope. When we unite our sufferings to Christ, they are never wasted. Even in the midst of the fire, God is at work, preparing us to share more fully in His glory.

May we meet today’s challenges with faith, perseverance, and the confidence that Christ walks with us through every trial.

Memorial Day, a day of remembrance, more than the start of summer or a long weekend. It is a day set aside to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. May we pause with gratitude, pray for the fallen and their families, and never take for granted the freedoms purchased through their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Today on Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, we joyfully celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Eucharist for five adults in our community! 🔥🕊️😇

Filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit and nourished for the first time by the Body and Blood of Christ, they are a beautiful witness of faith, conversion, and God’s grace at work among us.

As the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles at Pentecost and sent them on mission, so too our newly confirmed are strengthened and sent out to live boldly as disciples of Jesus Christ.

Please join us in praying for them as they continue their journey of faith within the Church. Come, Holy Spirit!

May the Lord welcome him into eternal peace and reward him for a life of service, love and ministry. Please join us in praying for the repose of his soul and for all who mourn his passing. RIP Bishop Ricard🙏

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23

It is with deep sorrow that the Josephites announce the passing of Most Reverend John H. Ricard, SSJ, Superior General of the Josephites and Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee, who died on May 20, 2026, at Saint Joseph’s Seminary in Washington, DC.

Born on February 29, 1940, Bishop Ricard faithfully served the Catholic Church for decades through his ministry as a Josephite priest, counselor, educator, pastor, bishop, humanitarian, and leader. He devoted his life to
the proclamation of the Gospel, humanitarian efforts worldwide, the mission of the Josephite Society, and the pastoral care of God’s people, especially within Black Catholic communities.

The Josephite community asks for prayers for the repose of Bishop Ricard’s soul, for the Josephite community, his family, friends, and all who
mourn his passing.

Further information regarding funeral arrangements and memorial services
will be shared soon.

Commemorates the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three children in Fatima, Portugal on the 13th of each month from May to October in 1917. Our Lady appeared to Lucia, age 9, Blessed Francisco Marto, age 8, and Blessed Jacinta Marto, age 6, while they were tending sheep; they described her as "a woman all in white, more brilliant than the sun", and her message was to do reparation for sins that offend God, and to pray constantly for the conversion of sinners. She asked for devotion to the Holy Trinity, and for praying the Rosary daily for world peace. Word spread, and by the final apparition on 13 October, 70,000 people showed up to witness the Lady and the sign that she had promised; they witnessed the sun make three circles and zigzag around in the sky. Laudate
