“My name is Robin. For years I had a vague memory of being held by my mother at that creek and assuming I had been baptized, too. And because of all that, I almost felt like I was born a Christian.
Obviously, a lot of time has passed since then, and I can tell you with absolute certainty I was not born a Christian. While I have been extremely blessed, I’ve also spent years choosing rebellion over submission. But God. Derek Prince often said, remember, when you are reading your Bible, your Bible is also reading you.
Then one night a few weeks ago, as I was up late reading my Bible in the quiet of my home, suddenly I heard a clear, distinct impression in my spirit “you haven’t been baptized.”
The Holy Spirit was right. I was missing a vital act of obedience.
My testimony is simply that God never stopped pursuing a sinner like me. According to scripture, water baptism is a burial. And today I’m choosing to bury the old, prideful, independent woman in this water. By faith. He is not just my Savior, he is my Lord. And today, my answer to him is simply, yes, Lord. Amen. Thank you, Holy Spirit.”
