Calvary Bible Fellowship

Calvary Bible Fellowship In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things love. We do not take ourselves too serious. WORSHIP STYLE

Whatever the people prefer, literally.

OUR NAME

We have chosen Calvary Bible Fellowship because it states most clearly and simply who we are:

*CALVARY: We began as a ministry of Calvary Chapel - a wonderful movement of God founded by Chuck Smith.

*BIBLE: Teaching "verse-by-verse" through the Old & New Testaments - We teach out of the NKJV but appreciate many of the new translations.

*FELLOWSHIP: We truly love & enjoy each other i

n an atmosphere of laughter & grace. Hymns, worship choruses, rap, country or polka - you get the point . . . it's all good! But we believe Jesus must be the focus in our worship. SMALL, RELAXED & CASUAL

The average size of 90% of churches worldwide is 45-125 people. We love being a smaller church. We dress casual and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere. Come "just as you are" to a place where everybody knows your name. LED BY A TEAM OF PASTORS & ELDERS

A healthy church has a primary & secondary person in all key positions. Pastors are called to the ministry by the Lord Jesus and elders are appointed by the pastors. The pastors & the elders govern the church in all matters. CBF's team of pastors & elders are: Phillip Frensley, Scott Daniel, Jim Gallops, & Doug Elliott. CHURCH CONSTITUTION & BY-LAWS

We adhere to & believe the Bible. There are many doctrines which cause division in the church. (Calvinism, Gifts of the Spirit, Rapture, etc.) They fail in the category of "doctrine of uncertainty" - Those things which are too difficult to fathom. Doctrines we believe, but cannot neatly package and explain. Those things that we must not be dogmatic about. Those things which are divisive. Those things which we will better understand after this life. Those things we were not meant to understand fully yet. They were meant to keep us balanced & ward off arrogance and complacency. BELIEFS

We believe "in essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity". (St. Augustine of Hippo)

That means we agree on the basics. We don't believe church is a place for like-minded people that believe exactly the same. "As iron sharpens iron, one person sharpens another." EVANGELISM

We believe the local church is God's primary means of fulfilling the Great Commission. Equipping the saints by teaching through God's word, so they can evangelize the communities our evangelism method.
