September Focus: GIVE - Joyful Generosity
This month: GIVE—joyful generosity with time, resources, and self.
"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7
Notice: God loves CHEERFUL giving. Not reluctant. Not guilty. Not forced. JOYFUL.
This month's questions:
• Am I generous or tightfisted?
• What am I holding onto that God wants me to release?
• Is my giving sacrificial or just leftovers?
• Is my giving joyful or reluctant?
DNA Challenge: Give something significant this month—and do it joyfully.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

Serve When No One's Watching
The test of true service: Would you still do it if no one knew?
Jesus warned against serving "to be seen by others" (Matthew 6:1). That's not service—that's pride.
True service: ✅ Doesn't need recognition ✅ Doesn't seek applause ✅ Doesn't demand gratitude ✅ Serves for an audience of One
"And your Father who sees in secret will reward you." - Matthew 6:4
This week: Do something for someone that they'll never know about. Serve anonymously.
DNA Question: Are you serving to be seen or serving like Jesus?
Hidden service reveals true love.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

Sacrificial Service Costs Something
If your service doesn't cost you anything, is it really sacrificial?
True service costs: 💰 Money - Meeting financial needs ⏰ Time - Giving up your schedule 😰 Comfort - Doing what's inconvenient 💪 Energy - Serving when you're tired ❤️ Vulnerability - Opening your life to others
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13
This week: What is your service costing you? If the answer is "nothing," you're probably not serving sacrificially.
DNA Challenge: Serve someone this week in a way that actually costs you something.
Love is proven by sacrifice.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

Jesus Washed Feet
"He poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him." - John 13:5
Foot washing was a SLAVE'S job. Feet were dirty, smelly, gross.
And Jesus—GOD IN FLESH—got on His knees and washed feet.
Then He said: "If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet." - John 13:14
What's your "foot washing"? What humble service is God calling you to?
DNA Question: Where is pride keeping you from humble service? How does Jesus' example speak to your resistance?
Serve like Jesus served—on your knees.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

August Focus: SERVE - Humble Sacrifice
This month we're shifting from SEEING needs to SERVING—meeting needs through humble sacrifice.
"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." - Mark 10:45
Jesus, the King of Kings, washed feet. Jesus, the Lord of all, served everyone. Jesus, God in flesh, gave His life.
Now He calls us to follow His example.
This month's questions:
• Who are you serving sacrificially?
• What is your service costing you?
• Are you willing to serve in hidden, thankless ways?
DNA Challenge: Identify one person or need you'll serve sacrificially this month. Make it cost you something—your time, comfort, money, or pride.
Service isn't service unless it costs you something.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

What Blinds Us to Needs?
Why do we miss the needs around us?
🙈 Self-Focus - Too consumed with our own problems 🙈 Busyness - Moving too fast to notice 🙈 Apathy - "Not my problem" 🙈 Fear - "I don't know how to help" 🙈 Pride - "They probably don't need help"
"If anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" - 1 John 3:17
This week: Identify what blinds YOU to needs. Confess it. Ask God to remove it.
DNA Groups: Share one thing that keeps you from seeing needs and how the gospel addresses it.
Open your eyes. Slow down. Pay attention.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

Gospel-Shaped Eyes
We see needs through the lens of the gospel when we remember:
✝️ You were needy - Spiritually dead, enemies of God ✝️ Jesus SAW you - He didn't pass by ✝️ He met your need - At great cost to Himself ✝️ Now you see others - With the compassion Christ had for you
"We love because he first loved you." - 1 John 4:19
How does remembering your own need and Christ's compassion change how you see others?
DNA Question: How has Jesus met your greatest need? How does that motivate you to see and meet the needs of others?
See others the way Christ saw you.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

The Good Samaritan SAW
"But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion." - Luke 10:33
Three men encountered the beaten man:
1. Priest - SAW and passed by
2. Levite - SAW and passed by
3. Samaritan - SAW and had compassion
All three SAW. Only one CARED.
The difference? The Samaritan allowed what he saw to move his heart to action.
This week: You're going to see needs around you. The question is—will you care? Will you act?
DNA Question: What need did you see this week? How did you respond?
Don't just see. SEE with compassion.
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)

Welcome to Q3: SACRIFICIAL LOVE
The next three months are about SACRIFICIAL LOVE—formation through evangelism, mercy, hospitality, and embodied compassion.
JULY - SEE: Gospel-shaped awareness of needs AUGUST - SERVE: Humble sacrifice in meeting needs SEPTEMBER - GIVE: Joyful generosity with time, resources, and self
"By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." - John 13:35
This month: SEE. Are you aware of needs or self-focused? Who has God placed in your path that you've overlooked? What needs exist around you?
DNA Challenge: Ask God daily this month: "Lord, open my eyes to see needs today."
"And this we will do, if God permits." - Hebrews 6:3 (NASB)
