In “Morning on the Other Side,” Pastor Brennan reminds us that grace opens the path, but Israel must still walk through it. On the other shore, Pharaoh no longer owns their future, and Miriam lifts the tambourine she somehow carried out of Egypt. After generations in which others controlled their lives and labor, the first thing the people do with their freedom is sing. As Yourself:
A Seven-Week Journey into the Surprising Holiness of Loving Yourself

Jesus tells us to love our neighbors “as yourself,” yet Christians often hurry past those final two words. This course explores holy self-love as the practice of receiving—not worshiping, excusing, or inventing—the person God created, Christ claims, and the Spirit is healing. Following the movement of As Yourself, we will travel from awakening and honest diagnosis through baptism, growth in grace, friendship, vocation, and the love that returns the healed self to self and to the world as gift.

All older adults are invited to join us for food, fellowship, and activities at our Grandparents Day Celebration, hosted by 50 Forward and First Students! You’re welcome whether or not you have grandchildren attending.

All middle and high school students will serve as hosts. Children in 5th grade and younger may attend with their grandparents. Otherwise, they’ll attend Sunday School as usual.
