For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, “the man who does those things lives by them.” But the righteousness of faith speaks. Romans 10:5-6

Let me say something about faith. You cannot have faith without speaking it. When you study Romans 10, you will notice that it says that "the righteousness which is of the law.... does.... But the righteousness of faith speaks." The law is about doing, whereas faith is about speaking. It is not enough to just know in your mind that you are righteous. It is not enough to just read this chapter or hear a sermon on righteousness and mentally agree that you are righteous. You need to open your mouth and say by faith, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ." (2 Cor. 5:21). This is where many believers are missing out on the blessing of Abraham. They are not speaking their righteousness by faith.

Our first response to a trying situation is very important. Our first response when we discover a symptom in our body, when we receive a bad report or when we are faced with a trial, should always be to say, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ." Come on now, this is where the rubber meets the road. This is when we need to speak it. You need to not only know that you are righteous, you need to believe and speak your righteousness in Christ. It is not faith until you speak it! Paul said, "And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, 'I believed and therefore I spoke,' we also believe and therefore speak" (2 Corinthians 4:13). The spirit of faith is clearly about believing and speaking. So it does not matter how many sermons or books on righteousness you have heard and read. You need to believe it and speak it.

When you fail and fall short of the law's perfect standard, that is the time you should exercise your faith to say, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ." At that very moment when you are seething in anger at your spouse, or when you have just lost your cool on the road, it takes faith to say that you are righteous because you know that you have missed it. And you know what? The moment you say it, even if you are still in the midst of your anger, you will feel like you have ushered something good into that situation. You take a step back and start to relax, and the anger dissipates as you begin to realize your true identity in Christ.

Men, if you see a sc****ly clad woman on television or on the cover of a magazine and you are tempted, what is your first response? Are you sin-conscious or righteousness-conscious? Sin-consciousness will draw you to succumb to your temptation, whereas righteousness-consciousness gives you the power to overcome every temptation. That is why the enemy wants to keep you sin-conscious. Confessing your sins all the time keeps you sin-conscious. It is as if Jesus did not become your sin on the cross. Righteousness-consciousness keeps you conscious of Jesus. Every time you speak it, you magnify the work of Jesus on the cross. So believe and speak the truth: "I am the righteousness of God in Christ." Then, you cannot help but see the results of magnifying the Lord Jesus and His finished work!

Good morning Facebook,

Blessed Memorial Day to you and your loved ones.

My team and I stand with you today, honoring the US servicemen and women who bravely gave their lives fighting for our nation. As we remember their selfless sacrifice, we hear the words of our Lord Jesus saying:
"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."
—John 15:13
As we honor the precious gift of freedom, know that we too have found freedom through Christ’s finished work. Today you can come to Jesus, lay every worry and care at His feet, and rest in His love. You can freely receive from His abundant supply: healing, provision, breakthrough, and deliverance in every challenge. You will find it all in the loving embrace of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Beloved, on this day of gratitude and reverence, please join with me as we lift up our brothers and sisters in faith, declaring our Lord’s shalom peace, provision, and protection over them and their families. The Lord bless you!
In His grace,

Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Ps 55:22 NIV

Because you are the righteousness of God in Christ (see 2 Cor 5:21), the Lord Himself will sustain you and not allow you to be shaken.

Blessed Resurrection Sunday, my friend! We can celebrate and give thanks because our Lord Jesus didn’t just die for us on the cross, He rose again on the third day so that we can reign in life as the righteousness of God in Christ (Rom. 5:17). Today, we can live assured that as He is raised and seated at the Father’s right hand, far above every principality, power, and dominion, so are we (1 John 4:17). We can live unafraid and have a confident expectation of good even in dark and dangerous times. Beloved, may you receive a fresh infusion of the Lord’s resurrection life in your body, thoughts, and emotions. And may you and your loved ones enjoy a greater measure of His protection, provision, and peace as you rest in His perfect finished work!

The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in mercy… He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy towards those who fear Him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Psalm 103 is one of my favorite psalms of David, a beautiful psalm that describes who and what God really is—a gracious and merciful Savior. Believing right begins with what you believe about God and must be based on the solid foundation of God's Word. To know the truth about who and what God is, we can't go by feelings, circumstances, human conjectures, or what we may have heard someone say about God. We have to go to the source!

If you heard a rumor that someone you knew was saying horrible and negative things about you, don't believe it immediately. Go to the source first. Ask this person if this is what he or she really said or if this is what he or she really meant. Many people allow precious friendships and relationships to become fractured because they believe the rumors. They become bitter, angry, and disappointed without ever verifying with the person if he or she had actually said those nasty things.

In the same way, in the world we live in, there are all kinds of wrong beliefs perpetuated about God: "God is angry at you." "He is disappointed with you." "God is allowing all these negative things to happen to you because He's punishing you for your past sins."

Please do NOT believe all this baseless gossip about God! Such impressions of God have damaged many people's relationships with Him, and they live with a distorted perspective of who God really is. Instead of receiving His love, grace, and forgiveness, they become afraid, distant, and fearful of Him. Instead of allowing Jesus to come into their situations, they live their lives running away, avoiding, and hiding from Him.

Come on, let's honor God and go to the source. Look again at what the Bible says about Him in today's Scripture reading: He is "slow to anger, and abounding in mercy...as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." This is our God! This is why you can always run to Him and believe that you can freely receive His help!

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10

Soon after the tragedy of September 11 had taken place, some believers publicly declared that God was judging America because of her sins. When I heard that, I could just imagine some terrorist somewhere in Afghanistan agreeing with them and thinking that "god" was indeed using him to judge America. Can you see that something is amiss when both believers and terrorists agree on the same thing? Thousands of people died and many families, friends, and loved ones were thrown into grief. How can that be the work of our loving Father? Read the Bible for yourself. It says that God is "not willing that any should perish" (2 Pet. 3:9). Terrorism is the work of the devil. It is not the work of our loving Father.

But Pastor Prince, didn't God use Elijah to call down the fire of judgment on those who opposed him?

Yes, the story of a literal fire judgment that fell upon the enemies of the prophet Elijah is told in 2 Kings 1:1–15, and there are other accounts of God's judgment in the Old Testament, such as upon S***m and Gomorrah (Gen. 19:24–25). But God wants us to be able to rightly divide His Word (2 Tim. 2:15). He wants us to be astute in rightly dividing and clearly separating what belongs to the old covenant of law and what belongs to the new covenant of grace. He wants us to be able to distinguish what occurred before the cross from what occurred after the cross and to understand the difference the cross has made. Many believers today are living as if the cross did not make any difference!

Don't just take it from me that God will not call down the fires of judgment on you today. See for yourself what Jesus Himself said about what Elijah did. Do you remember the time when Jesus wanted to enter a certain village in Samaria, but the people there refused to receive Him? When Jesus' disciples saw that the people rejected Jesus, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?" Now, how did Jesus respond to them? Did He say, "That's a great idea! You are truly disciples who carry My heart"? No, of course not! Read your Bible. He turned to His disciples and rebuked them firmly, saying, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them" (Luke 9:54–56).

My friend, the Spirit of Jesus in the new covenant of grace is not the spirit of the old covenant of law during Elijah's time. Jesus wants you to have full assurance in your heart today that He did not come to condemn or destroy you. He came to save you (John 3:17)! The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life, and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). He wants you to live a life marked by His love, power, and blessings. Where there are broken relationships, they are mended. Where there are bad habits, they are broken. And where there are challenges, you emerge victorious. Hallelujah!

“Then He said to them, O foolish ones , and slow of heart to believe in all that the profits have spoken!”
Luke 24:25

In many places there are believers who still think that God is mad at them whenever they fail. They simply don't have a revelation of the gospel of grace and what God's unconditional love means. Like the two disciples on the road to Emmaus (see Luke 24:13–27), such believers still do not understand the grace of our Lord and what He has done for them at the cross.

Then there are believers who know about the gospel of grace and who even know that God loves them unconditionally. However, this knowing is only in their heads. When they fail, even though they have the knowledge of grace, they are nevertheless still afraid to come with boldness to God's throne of grace to receive mercy, favor, healing, and restoration.

Beloved, God doesn't want you slow of heart to believe His promise of abundant grace and gift of righteousness to reign in this life. Knowing God's truths and the gospel of grace intellectually is not enough. You have to be quick to believe everything that Jesus has accomplished on the cross for you, especially when you are struggling with failure, guilt, and fear. God doesn't want you defeated because of a lack of knowledge of His grace. At the same time, He wants you to be quick in believing in His promises for you.

This is why we study God's Word. It is not to merely accumulate Bible knowledge and historical facts, but to have a constant revelation of Jesus that feeds our quick and right believing in Him. And how do we do this? We can start by asking the Holy Spirit. Many times when studying the Word, I would pray this simple prayer: "Holy Spirit, open my eyes to see Jesus in the Word today." That is what it's all about—seeing Jesus. When you see Him in the Scriptures through the lens of grace, faith will arise and your mind will be renewed with His truths and promises for you.

If you want to see the power of right believing operating in every dimension of your life, I challenge you to believe in His grace, His love, His righteousness, His forgiveness, and His finished work. I promise you that you will be transformed beyond your wildest imagination if you dare to lean hard on His love for you. His love never fails!
