We are Trey and Karen Mayfield! Missionary church planters to Mexico 🇲🇽

We love our small group here at Abundant Grace 🫶🏼

We call them “comunidades”, or communities :)
Each member belongs to one and it’s an opportunity to get to know the church on a deeper level, share our struggles with sin and burdens we carry, and encourage each other from God’s Word! We are heading out this month as a community to evangelize so please pray the God would open hearts to hear the gospel call!

We made a quick trip to Querétaro to visit the Schroeder family who just moved here to Mexico two weeks ago! They are BMW missionaries and are looking to plant a church in there in the capital after they get settled in.

We remembered what it was like just 6 months ago to show up to a country and feel overwhelmed and mixed emotions, so, we were happy to try to welcome this sweet family and hopefully encourage them as they are experiencing many new things for the first time as missionaries in a foreign land 🙏🏼

May God use them in a great way to reach this area!

Lately…

God has been so good and we are so thankful 🙏🏼

Karen celebrsted her first birthday living here in Mexico ❤️

Karen’s mom and brother became our first visitors here in Mexico.

We had our first missionary intern, Joey Bunnell , the son of our mission board’s president, who stayed with us for a month.

At Abundant Grace, we hosted a missions team from Emmanuel Baptist Church and had a great week working at another church plant and making house visits.

We have also enjoyed building sweet relationships with the people here at the church 🫶🏼

What is baptism?

Baptism is a public declaration that a person has placed their faith in Jesus Christ. It does not save us, but it testifies to the salvation we have already received by grace through faith.

Being immersed in water symbolizes our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3 to 4). It is an act of obedience to the Lord and a beautiful proclamation of the gospel.
