Cornerstone Church of Pennville

Cornerstone Church of Pennville Formed in 1895, Pennville United Methodist Church serves to connect members with Christ. We offer a traditional church setting in which all are welcome.

In 2023, the congregation voted unanimously to leave the United Methodist denomination and formed an independent church based entirely on scripture. Join us on Sunday morning for fellowship at 10:00, and for worship service at 10:30!

Steady Hope
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
As the day unfolds, remember that God goes before you. In the rush of errands, conversations, and quiet moments alone, He remains your steady strength. Even when waves feel high and the wind feels strong, you are held by the One who calms the sea. Pause today. Breathe in His promises. Let His peace fill your heart and steady your steps. You do not face this day alone.

Prayer: Lord, anchor my heart in Your peace and help me trust You in every moment.

God is patiently waiting...for YOU. Sunday, June 7, fellowship will begin at 10:00 am with food, drink and love. Jack will bring the message at 10:30. You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below." ~ Exodus 20:4
The Ten Commandments are instructions given by God to the Israelite people after delivering them from Egypt. As Moses retrieved these laws at Mount Sinai, He relayed God’s very own heart for His people. Don’t forget–every one of these laws is written with your best interest in mind. For example, the verse above discusses idolatry. It’s so tempting to put other things ahead of God, isn’t it? Whether it’s digital addiction, careerism, or even false teachers. Without even knowing it, we make time for so many other things in life, except for God. We were created to worship God. In fact, that’s when we’re at our happiest. Don’t forget this.

Has God heard from you lately?
The Coffee will be on at 10:00 am this last Sunday in May 2026. Jack will share his love of God with us at 10:30 am.

Your Battle is the Lord’s
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” – Exodus 14:14
Life’s battles can feel overwhelming, but victory is not ours to win alone. When Israel stood before the Red Sea, trapped and afraid, God didn’t tell them to fight—He told them to stand firm. He made a way where there was none. Your struggles, fears, and burdens are not yours to carry alone. Lay them at His feet and trust that He is already working on your behalf.
Prayer: Lord, I surrender my battles to You. Fight for me, and help me stand in faith. Amen.

I stand at the door and knock...please answer. Sunday, May 24, at 10:00 am come and join us for Coffee at the Corner. Jack will continue the study of Ephesians at 10:30.

Matthew 18:3
…3 and said, “Unless you turn to God from your sins and become as little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

In the context of the New Testament, this verse is a direct lesson on humility. When the disciples asked Jesus who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, Jesus called a child to stand among them. He explained that adults must let go of their pride, status-seeking, and self-reliance, and instead adopt the humble, trusting, and teachable nature of a child to inherit the kingdom. May God bless you today!

Unshaken Faith
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.” — Psalm 18:2
Sometimes the Lord reminds us that life does not need to be perfect to be joyful. No matter how strong the winds feel today, stand firm in what God has already spoken over your life. The world may shift, people may change, but His truth stays steady. Walk boldly, rooted in His promises, knowing you are held, covered, and never alone. Even in quiet moments, His strength carries you forward.
Prayer: Lord, help me find joy in the simple blessings You place in my day and trust that Your peace is always enough.
