Updates for Fall 2024: Wednesday evenings are now in full swing with supper at 5:45, then AWANA and youth group at 6:30, and prayer meeting at 6:35.
This is the October preaching schedule for Sunday 10:30 service:

13th, Pastor Phil Tolbert, Exec. Dir., Lake Beauty Bible Camp
20th, Pastor Jonathan
27th, Pastor Don
November 3rd, Pastor Jonathan's last Sunday at Salem, communion. The Wilsons will be moving upstate later in the month.

How fast can a summer fly??? Starting Sep 8 We are back to our Fall schedule for Sunday Worship: 9:15 Sunday school for all ages, 10:30 Worship. Hope to see you there! Wednesday nights start Sep 11 with Youth Group (6:30) and Adult Prayer Meeting (7:00). PLEASE NOTE: the AWANA program and Wednesday suppers will begin in October, TBA.

SUNDAY, JULY 21, PICNIC SUPPER at Salem, 5:30 PM. All are welcome, and all the food is provided!
Thank you for checking out the updates at Salem Covenant Church, rural Pennock. Worship is at 9:30 AM through Labor Day, and a fellowship hour follows. Some Sundays feature a Women's Bible Study after church as well. THIS Sunday, July 21, is a regular quarterly business meeting after worship -- it does not look to be a long one. There will be plenty of time to go home, get dinner, have an afternoon, and then return for the picnic supper at 5:30.

Dear Salem Friends,
I am sure many of us will be following the updates on President Trump and the investigation into the apparent attempt on his life. It is hard to imagine a different explanation than that he was the target of an assassination, but the investigation at this point is ongoing. Here is a prayer:

"Lord God in Heaven, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
We pray for Donald Trump, that you would bring healing to any injuries he sustained today, and that you would comfort him in the trauma of this episode. We pray for his family and loved ones as their concerns for him will now be elevated, bring them comfort and peace. We thank you for the signs of vigor that he has displayed.

We pray for President Biden who must now lead in this crisis in public affairs and public faith, with empathy and and statesmanship; let him be unifying, conciliatory, and condemning of these perpetrators of violence. We pray for all candidates for public office running this November, at all levels, for the safety of themselves, their families, and their supporters. We pray for the safety and integrity of the election process, and not only this, but even more, for the continued faith of Americans in this process.
So we pray that you would unite Americans in resolve to continue our tradition of peaceful elections and transitions.

We pray also for those who hate America, for you have charged Christians to pray for our enemies. Those who hate America include those either so anti-American or so un-American that they would resort to violence in attempts to influence or secure their own preferred outcomes. We pray that the hearts of these enemies would change before they act, and we pray that you in your providence and grace would not allow the plots and plans of such evil people to succeed. Finally, Lord, we pray that you would bring the perpetrators of this deed to light and to justice, in that way also helping us, in your providence, by restoring the faith of Americans in the institutions of our liberty and the responsibilities of our freedom. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thank you for looking up Salem Covenant! Starting MAY 26th, and out THROUGH Labor Day Week-end, Salem will be on our summer schedule. Sunday Worship begins at 9:30 AM with fellowship hour to follow. Adult group studies may also form, those will be announced as they take shape. Our Wednesday Supper, AWANA, Youth and Prayer Meeting schedule returns in the Fall.

Thank you for checking out Salem (rural Pennock MN) on Facebook! Our Sunday school at 9:15 and worship at 10:30 continues through May 19. Then May 26, Memorial Day week-end, we begin our "summer" worship time of 9:30 AM. Our midweek programs are now concluded. On May 15, KMS has its baccalaureate service for seniors at the high school in Kerkhoven, 7 PM.

Hello Salem Friends! We have a big week-end ahead of us, with a Clean-up Day on April 27 starting at 8 AM with tasks indoors and outdoors, and then Sunday, April 28, is Confirmation where the students will be featured and go through the rite during worship. The first celebration after worship will be at church starting immediately after the service, and the second celebration begins in town at 2 pm. Details are in bulletin and email.

Hello Salem Friends and Followers,
We have a special schedule this week: Wednesday, March 27 no programs. Thursday, March 28 special Holy Week service 7 PM, with special processional for kids and then a separate Easter video and snack for them downstairs as the adults have worship and communion upstairs. Easter, March 31, no Sunday School. Breakfast will be served 9-10 AM, freewill donations will support scholarships for Bible Camp. Worship is at 10:30, the choir will sing. Join us! Bring friends!

Dear Salem Friends,
Glaze ice has formed on the roads and sidewalks, so we are cancelling church today, Palm Sunday March 24, even though the snow is scheduled for a little later.
Although it is disappointing, God is sovereign and knows our hearts. I have put together a 15-minute video with some Psalm verses, church announcements about Holy Week coming up, and a brief reflection on the triumphant arrival of Jesus in Jerusalem which Palm Sunday celebrates. Bless you all and stay safe.

Happy Spring, Salem followers and friends!
While we are looking forward to a special Palm Sunday service (10:30 AM) we want everyone to be alert to the weather forecasts and any forthcoming announcements regarding Palm Sunday, March 24.
Between Palm Sunday and Easter (called "Holy Week") we have a special schedule:
1. No AWANA or programs on Wednesday.
2. Special Communion Service on Thursday, 7 PM. A special activity for children is planned in the church fellowship hall during the service.
3. Easter Sunday: No Sunday School classes will meet. From 9-10 AM we will serve Easter Breakfast. Freewill donations will go to Bible Camp scholarships. 10:30, worship service.
Please make Salem part of your Holy Week and Easter celebration!

Pray for Haiti. Salem Covenant is joining with several other churches in an effort to load a forty-foot storage container in Little Falls that will be sent to Haiti for as direct aid for a school and church. Rice and beans, clothes, small tools and garden implements are requested. Pastor Jonathan is driving a van up with donations on Saturday morning, March 9. Donations to add to his van trip may be brought to the parsonage garage by the end of Friday afternoon.
