Chair Yoga and Share Movement

In an extension of our Bridges offerings,
Pennington United Methodist Church is offering a Chair Yoga and Share Movement gathering on Saturday, April 18, at 1 PM in Morrell Hall.

Beloved area fitness professional Gioia Fumo, who teaches movement at Honor Yoga Pennington, Ewing Senior Center, 4 Seasons, and Stoneking Physical Therapy and Wellness, will lead us in a Chair Yoga session. She will share her knowledge and loving spirit with us as she leads the class.

To quote Gioia: "My joy comes from helping individuals appreciate what movement can do for their body, mind, and spirit, no matter what their perceived limitations. Chair yoga is one of my favorite types of movement because it is accessible to all and it can be done anywhere there is a chair! The benefits of chair yoga are both grounding and uplifting, energizing and calming, while creating a sense of community and belonging."

In addition to the class, we will begin to organize movement groups to create a community of healthy activities that anyone can join. If you have any questions, please contact Suzanne Hickman at [email protected]

Come and join us on April 18!

5TH SUNDAY LUNCHEON – MARCH 29:
We’re looking forward to sharing fellowship together at our 5th Sunday Luncheon on March 29! We’ll once again be enjoying a soup and salad bar, and we would love your help in making it a wonderful time for all. Two generous volunteers have already offered to prepare soup — thank you! If you would enjoy making a pot of soup to share, we would be so grateful.

Coffee Hour will be providing the salad greens. We’re inviting others to bring toppings such as tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, eggs, bell peppers, or any favorite additions you enjoy. Salad dressings are also appreciated. And of course, a few desserts would make our meal complete!

If you have questions or would like to sign up to help, please see Linda Parson at church or contact her at (609) 468-5395.

Thank you for helping make this a joyful time of food and fellowship for our church family!

We warmly invite you to the fourth and final event in our Bridges of Belonging series at Pennington United Methodist Church. This special event will feature a reflective, narrative-based offering from Stephen Faller, an ordained deacon, chaplain, and author of several books, including The Art of Spiritual Midwifery: diaLogos and Dialectic in the Classical Tradition (2015), and Confessions of a Circuit Rider: A Marginal Chaplain's Apocalyptic and Disjointed Journal (2023).

In this reflective presentation, Rev. Stephen will share insights drawn from his journey as a Methodist pastor and chaplain, offering a "confession" in the truest sense of the word. The talk will center around the themes of belonging, disability, and faith after certainty, gently expanding the conversation to explore how communities can think about accompaniment and outreach in a post-pandemic world. The focus will be particularly on those for whom public spaces have become more difficult to navigate due to physical limitations, personal grief, or other challenges.

Date: Saturday, February 7, 2026
