The Catholic Church of Philadelphia has partnered with Hallow as part of the ongoing Trust & Hope initiative led by Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez to foster growth in the spirit of Missionary Discipleship.

“The Church’s door has always been open,” said Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez. “Trust & Hope makes our local Church face outward to all. It invites people to come closer and look inside. Hallow helps them encounter God in the quiet of their own hearts.”

Through this partnership, the five regional Missionary Hubs — along with an additional parish community — will incorporate Hallow into their existing evangelization and outreach efforts through:

• Guided prayer experiences
• Small group and faith-sharing opportunities
• Seasonal Advent and Lent reflections
• Digital resources to help individuals and families grow closer to God
• Free Hallow accounts for clergy, seminarians, and religious brothers and sisters.
Additionally, all parishes and schools in the Archdiocese get access to a 10% diocesan level discount for any parishes or schools who wish to purchase a Hallow Parish Partnership Package.

As Metropolitan Archbishop of Philadelphia, I am deeply disturbed and saddened by the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania’s recent ruling overturning our state’s ban on the utilization of public funding for elective abortions. In effect, the court is forcing all taxpayers to fund abortions and proclaiming a constitutional right to end the life of an unborn child.

As Catholics, we believe that life is God’s most precious gift and that we share a responsibility to uphold its sanctity for all people from conception to natural death.

The Church’s strong commitment in this regard is a holistic one. We advocate strongly for the unborn, who cannot speak for themselves. At the same time, we work tirelessly to care for the needs of the hungry, the poor, the sick, the immigrant, the elderly, the oppressed, and all those who are marginalized with dignity and grace.

It is my hope and prayer that immediate action will be taken to reinstate the ban on public funding for abortions, and that all Pennsylvanians will work to sustain a true culture of respect for life.

Pope Leo XIV has consistently spoken with clarity and compassion with calls for peaceful resolutions to complex challenges in a manner that upholds the sanctity and dignity of all human life as our world continues to be afflicted with division, conflict, and suffering. Both the Holy Father and his message deserve respect and admiration.

As a pastoral and world leader, Pope Leo XIV is a gift for Catholics and all people of good will. His message powerfully reflects the truth of the Gospel.

While many expect political messages from the Vicar of Christ, it is his role to preach the Gospel of peace and the role of political leaders to secure the most efficient end to world conflict and division.

His continued calls for peace, hope, diplomacy, and the conversion of hearts should be heeded by all. The Church of Philadelphia stands by the Holy Father as he continues to call and pray for world peace as he has done since the beginning of his pontificate.

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D.
