Fall Creek Friends Meeting

Fall Creek Friends Meeting We are a community that gathers weekly to worship and listen to Christ's voice within us. All are welcome to join us!

We meet for worship on Sundays at 10:30 am, usually followed by a light snack. Sometimes there are meetings or a discussion group after lunch. The first Sunday of each month we also worship at 1pm, followed by a pitch in meal. We worship in traditional unprogrammed Quaker style, silence broken by messages that God gives to those present to share with the group. Anyone can and should speak as they feel led.

We still need two paid staff or volunteers for the Youth Program at OVYM annual sessions. If you know of someone who has experience with middle youth or teens and is free June 17 - 21, we would love to talk to them.

This photo by Bryan Glover of the old cemetery next to Fall Creek Meetinghouse captures the magic the lights on headstones creates. They are automatic tea lights so they'll be coming on at dark for the next week or so. It's absolutely worth driving out to see. Say hello to the ancestors.

Well that was fabulous. There are not enough words to adequately thank Historic Fall Creek, Pendleton Settlement, South Madison Community Foundation, Madison County SURE, Nick Pappas, Darius Wallace, the town of Pendleton, Falls Park, and the many Friends who came together to make this happen. Thank you.

For folks attending the Frederick Douglass event tonight, dress warmly, especially your feet. The ground is damp from this morning's rain and the temperature will be around 60°. We squeezed around 200 children, teachers, and nursing home residents into the meetinghouse and it was packed! You are going to be wowed by Darius Wallace's portrayal of Frederick Douglass, he's amazing. There will be a BBQ truck but you are also welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages. No to***co or fi****ms allowed on the grounds.
