Fall Creek Friends Meeting We are a community that gathers weekly to worship and listen to Christ's voice within us. All are welcome to join us!

We meet for worship on Sundays at 10:30 am, usually followed by a light snack. Sometimes there are meetings or a discussion group after lunch. The first Sunday of each month we also worship at 1pm, followed by a pitch in meal. We worship in traditional unprogrammed Quaker style, silence broken by messages that God gives to those present to share with the group. Anyone can and should speak as they feel led.

Teachers are optimists. We would not be teachers if we did not have confidence in the future and in humankind. We trust that given the right opportunities children will grow up into responsible adults capable of making good choices and of saving the world from disaster.

Perhaps the most important thing we can do today is to transmit to our pupils that sense of hope. The prevailing mood is one of pessimism and despair. ‘Why should I work hard when I won’t be able to get a job anyway?’ ‘Why should I plan for a future which may never happen?’ ‘What difference can I make to decisions of governments?’

The two qualities which are most important to children of today are hope and imagination. Hope to believe they can change the world they live in and imagination to find ways to do so.

Workshop proposals are open for the 2027 Gathering! If you enjoy meeting with Quakers, or if you want to help build the spiritual nourishment that makes the Gathering so special, please apply. The deadline to apply is September 30. The theme for 2027 is “Bearing Witness in Word and Deed.”

In particular, we are looking for workshop proposals that develop supportive structures among Friends, teach spiritual practices, or share knowledge that helps people endure in challenging times.

What might it take for more people to find joy and transformation through the Quaker faith? Attend the FGC Outreach Conference on September 25–27 to find out! The Outreach Conference includes practical workshops, inspiring speakers, and opportunities to practice new skills for welcoming newcomers and strengthening meetings. It’s a great opportunity for people from meetings that are large, small, struggling, rural, and urban. It is held online, and registration is open.

Topics include hospitality, communications, community partnerships, welcoming seekers, and sharing our faith with authenticity and humility.

Campus Friends Meeting on the campus of Wilmington College hosted the Ohio Valley Yearly Meeting Executive Committee on Saturday, August 29th. They arranged overnight hospitality for the Clerk, enabling her to join them in Meeting for Worship on Sunday and to hear a second hour presentation by Patricia Thomas about Bayard Rustin, which was very interesting and informative.
