WHEN THE KING’S COMPASSION MEETS OUR INADEQUACY
Matthew 14:13-21
What if the very thing you think is insufficient is exactly what Jesus wants to place in His hands?
Sometimes the greatest obstacle to the work of God is not that we have too little…
It’s believing that what we have is too small for God to use.
The disciples looked at thousands of hungry people and saw only five loaves and two fish.
Jesus looked at the same situation and saw an opportunity to reveal the abundance of His Kingdom.
What if the very thing you think is insufficient is exactly what Jesus wants to place in His hands?
This passage calls us to the theme verses of this series:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:27-30)
Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM as we continue our King of Hearts series through the Gospel of Matthew.
A prayer for this Sunday:
Father,
As we gather this Sunday, remind us that Your power is not limited by our weakness. Open our eyes to the compassion of King Jesus. Strengthen our faith to bring what little we have into Your hands and trust You to do what only You can do.
Teach us to rest in Your sufficiency and walk in joyful obedience.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
