🗓 On This Date 🗓 September 1, 1873—Lottie Moon sailed for China.

At 32 years old, she had been appointed by the Foreign Mission Board (now IMB) just weeks earlier. She sailed for Tengchow, China, and for the next 39 years she called China home—sharing the gospel, serving the people, and leaving a lasting legacy of missions.

Today—153 years later—her faithful witness continues to inspire through the ongoing work of IMB and WMU, all to the glory of God. 🌎✝️

Attention parents of student drivers,

A lot of you stop in our parking lot to switch places with your kids as you teach them to drive and you are more than welcome to. To assist you further, we've set up soft cones 22 feet apart 6 feet wide 2 feet from the curb to simulate parallel parking during the road test in a risk-free-low-stress environment. Feel free to use them! We'll move them out of the parking lot during service hours and events but if they aren't set up any other time, please knock on the parsonage door and if I'm in I'll happily set them up for you. I may even be able to help you practice if you like.

The Edisto Baptist Association shares something special in that the participating churches meet together not just once in a while but regularly. It is just as normal for me to be at Mt Hermon throughout the week as it is for me to be at Wagener, Corinth, or Salley which yesterday celebrated the ordination of Rev Joe Molewski just before we gathered together for worship with Rocky Springs, Pleasant Hill, Dean Swamp, Springfield, Windsor, and Berlin. Praise God for like-minded churches who prioritize discipleship and fellowship rather than competing with each other for the Gospel. We are grateful to be counted among them!
