A place where there had never been a Church of God in Christ. Luke had its humble beginning September 19, 1997, with 9 adults and 8 children Pastor: Elder Booker T. ells preached his first sermon September 21, 1997. His text was “Try Jesus for Yourself” October 1999 Elder Wells resigned. In 2000 Elder Nathaniel Henson, Sr was appointed pastor of St. With God’s approval, St. Luke C.O.G.I.C. purchased 4.25 acres of land on September 9, 2003, in Pelahatchie, MS. The pastor continuously prayed, fasted, and heeded to God’s words. The groundbreaking began 2010 and the church construction was underway with King Metal Building, Inc. Many prayers went up and plenty of hard work was done to bring the vision to life. Under the supervision of God and the management of Pastor Nathaniel Henson, Sr. the membership has continued to grow, souls have been saved, people have been healed and lives have been transformed. Luke has experienced setbacks of every kind. Through faith, prayer, and dedication to the vision, we continue to overcome every obstacle placed in our path. Today we are in this beautiful edifice able to comfortably worship and exalt God. To God be the Glory for all the wonderful things he has done and is during for Saint Luke Church of God in Christ.
