A message from our Central Illinois District of the LC-MS: “Please remember in your prayers our District’s Lutheran Early Response Training (LERT) volunteers, who provide help in Jesus’ name to churches and individuals affected by natural disasters. Pray for the hundreds of LERT workers in CID and throughout our Synod.”

Congratulations to Samantha Reese, Gavin Reese, Angela Schonert, and Randy Knussman. All four were welcomed as new communicant members of St. John's on Sunday, May 31. We pray for the Lord's blessing upon each individual's Christian faith and life.

Congratulations to our 8th-grade confirmands, Silas and Kenna, who completed the Rite of Confirmation on Sunday, May 31. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and strengthen them as they grow in faith throughout their lives.

We learned that:
- We are baptized into the Name of the one God,
who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- This baptism is God's work to bring us into His life.

For the LCMS convention this summer and those who are making preparations, especially those serving on the floor committees to prepare the work of our Synod's convention, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy.
