It has been quite the whirlwind of the last two months and I apologize for the lack of updates about the group!! But alas, I promise to be better this year and do much more regular updates! In December we had our end of year lock in which was a huge success!! 16 kids and laser tag!? It was a blast!!! Then in January we went to Michigan for winter retreat where we learned about unloading the baggage that we carry and giving it to God. Now upcoming we have WinterJam at the Civic Center on February 12 which I simply cannot wait for!!! If you have a teen that would like to attend with us please let me know!!!!

Lock-In 2025 is in the books… laser tag… many rounds of Grog and Hide and Seek… the super competitive Ga-ga Ball and Mafia… so much fun was had!!!! This Youth Director is heading to bed… thank you for letting me hang out with all your teens!!!

December 28th, 2025 Youth Lock-In

Where: Pekin First United Methodist Church/Elevate Laser Tag
Time: Arrive by 5pm Sunday - Leave at 8am on Monday
Dinner will be provided as well as snacks and other food and drink
May bring sleeping items such as blankets and pillows
Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes for laser tag
If there are any dietary needs please let me know
If you need to be late or leave early please let me know as well!!!

Cannot wait to see everyone!!! And remember.... bring your friends!!!

Hey Everyone,

It has been brought to my attention that perhaps it would not be the best idea to do Feed My Starving Children on little to no sleep after the lock-in, and that is completely valid. The excitement of participating had me in a choke hold and I wasn't thinking clearly. We will find another date to participate at a later time.

I do however want to remind everyone that we will be volunteering at the Dream Center on December 14th, leaving the church at 1:30pm. If you plan on participating please let me know asap so that I can give them a head count!! This will be for their student Christmas dinner.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I can't wait to see everyone this Sunday!!!

Happy Saturday Afternoon, everyone! As we are embarking on Thanksgiving week, I wanted to let you all know just how thankful I am for all of you and all of the youth that I get to hang out with each week. We have so many great opportunities coming up in the next two months and I am thankful that I will get to do all of them with our youth!!!!

That being said, here are some reminders of things we have on the calendar:

December 14th: Dream Center Peoria Volunteer Opportunity 2pm, meet @ Pekin First UMC at 1:30pm and ride together to Dream Center

December 28th: UNITEyouth Lock-In

December 29th: Feed My Starving Children in Aurora, IL
We will leave from the Lock-in, however if there is anyone that cannot be at the Lock-in and wants to go please meet at the church at 7:30am!!

January 9-11th: Winter Retreat at Springhill Camps in Evart, MI
*More information to come*

February 12th: Winter Jam Concert @ Peoria Civic Center 6pm
$15 donation at the door for admission

All of these events are open to all youth grades 6-12 and their friends!!! Lets get as many youth as we can to attend as many events as we can!!!!! So much grace is flowing, are you ready for it??

Hey there friends!!! Just wanted to give you a few dates to get on your calendar for the end of the year and beginning of next year as we start planning!!!

Winter Lock-In December 28th 7pm-December 29th 8am
- This will take place at the church and perhaps one other location that has not been confirmed as of yet. Permission slips will be provided if an off location site is added

Feed My Starving Children December 28th 11:30am in Aurora, IL
- This is a volunteer opportunity to help package food for people in third world countries and compete against other teams while doing so!!! Those that would like to attend will need a permission slip for the trip!!

Winter Retreat January 9-11, 2026 at Springhill Camps in Evart, MI
- This camp has everything that a kid could ever want to do on a retreat! We will be attending with the group that we worked with on our summer mission trip last year Journey Ministries. The current cost is $199 per student, but I will be looking at our funds and seeing what we need to do to get that cost down!!!

All of these events are open to all junior high and high school youth that would like to attend.
