The aim of Buddhism is to help people free themselves from suffering. Buddhism started with the Buddha which means one who is awake. The Buddha was born as Prince Siddhartha Gautama in India around 2643 years ago. He did not claim to be a god or a prophet. He became an enlightened one who understands life in the deepest way. After enlightenment, he shared his realization so that others can free themselves from suffering.

Listening to "Geniuses of the Ancient World" on Netflix, the documentary on the Buddha. There was a line there that resonated. "Know yourself, and the world is yours." Unlike some religions, Buddhism empowers the individual to take control of his/her life for the betterment of self and others.

Donations are tax deductible since the temple is a not-for-profit entity. If you are unable to donate at this time, at the very least share the GoFundMe page.
