Grace Family Church

Grace Family Church Our desire is to be a God-centered, Christ-honoring, and Spirit-led church. Many of us did not grow up prepared in this way. We need each other.

We intentionally structure our church so that you have time to apply the Word to your life, enabling the power of God to work in you. This freedom also gives dads time to disciple the children, provides many opportunities to truly live in covenantal community, and enables a return to simple commands such as practicing hospitality. Grace Family Church provides an environment where men are challenge

d and equipped to lead their wives and children, where women are encouraged to be godly wives and mothers, and where children know that obeying their parents and family unity are blessings from God. That's why Grace Family Church exists.

Temptation, Transgression, Tragedy

Genesis 3:1–8
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made.

He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. (ESV)

The First Marriage

Genesis 2:21–25
So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and while he slept took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the LORD God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man. Then the man said,

“This at last is bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.”

Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. (ESV)

When God Plants a Garden

Genesis 2:7–8
"[T]hen the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature. And the LORD God planted a garden in Eden, in the east, and there he put the man whom he had formed." (ESV)

"Men are afraid to have good thoughts of God. They think it is a boldness to eye God as good, gracious, tender, kind, loving. I speak of saints. They can judge Him hard, austere, severe, almost implacable, and fierce (the very worst affections of the very worst of men, and most hated by God). Is not this soul-deceit from Satan? Was it not his design from the beginning to inject such thoughts of God? Assure yourself, then, there is nothing more acceptable to the Father than for us to keep up our hearts unto Him as the eternal fountain of all that rich grace which flows out to sinners in the blood of Jesus." - John Owen

‘They who have a right sense of the guilt and power of sin, of the holiness and majesty of God, and of the hosts of enemies combined against their peace, must sin into despair, unless supported by the knowledge of an Almighty Omnipresent Saviour; who is always near, a very present help in trouble, and who can discern the thoughts of the heart; for often their most trying and dangerous exigencies [needs] are beyond the reach of a creature’s eye.’

God's Rest and Ours

Genesis 2:1–3
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation. (ESV)

Let Your Steadfast Love, O Lord, Be Upon Us

Psalm 33:1–3
Shout for joy in the LORD, O you righteous!
Praise befits the upright.
Give thanks to the LORD with the lyre;
make melody to him with the harp of ten strings!
Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts. (ESV)
