It's easy to define people by their worst mistakes—including ourselves.

But the Gospel tells a different story.
The thief on the cross had a past. Yet Jesus promised him a future.

No one is beyond God's grace. No one is too far gone. And no story is beyond redemption.
In Christ, your past doesn't have the final word.

If you stood before God today, what would your answer be?

Most people start listing things they've done.

"I went to church."
"I tried to be a good person."
"I read my Bible."

But the thief on the cross had none of that.
He simply trusted Jesus.

Maybe salvation isn't about what we've done.
Maybe it's about what Jesus has already done.

"The thief on the cross didn't have a résumé. He just had faith. And Jesus said, " That's enough. 👇"

No church attendance. No good deeds. No years of faithfulness to point to.
Just a dying man who looked at Jesus and said, "Remember me."
And that was enough.
Because salvation was never about what you bring. It was always about what He already paid. It's a gift. You don't earn a gift. You don't maintain a gift. You receive it.
Whatever you've done, however far you feel from God. You haven't done anything that puts you outside the reach of grace. The thief on the cross is proof.

You got saved. You're grateful. But then real life kept happening.
The job didn't come through. The relationship still fell apart. The thing you prayed about — still not fixed. And somewhere in the middle of all of that, salvation started to feel like something that happened back then — not something that's holding you together right now.
Pastor Chris names it directly: we treat salvation like a get-out-of-hell-free card. Pull it once, tuck it away, and try to survive the rest on your own.
But Jesus didn't say "one day you'll be with me in paradise."
He said today.
That promise is present tense. It's active. It's yours right now — in the middle of the failing, the trying, the not-yet.
You're not just saved from something. You're saved to something. And that changes everything about how you carry today.

One of the greatest misconceptions in Christianity is that God's work ends when He saves us.

But salvation is also a sending.

God changes lives so that transformed people can help point others to transformation.

Who might God want to reach through you this week?

Join us tomorrow as we continue discovering how God uses ordinary people for extraordinary purposes.

Your story may be the light someone desperately needs.
You don't have to have perfect theology.
You don't have to know every answer.
You simply have to tell what Jesus has done.
The world doesn't need more silence.
It needs more people willing to turn the flashlight on.

Sometimes we think we need all the answers before God can use us.

But Jesus simply told the man, "Go and tell people what God has done for you."

Your story matters. Your testimony matters. And God can use it to point someone else to Him.

"Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you." — Luke 8:39

This week, take a few minutes to reflect on where you are in your discipleship journey. We've provided a Personal Discipleship Assessment in the Blog section of our website to help you identify areas of growth and opportunities to take your next step.

Because in Christ, we're not just saved—we're sent.

We make so many excuses for why we can't talk about our faith. We’re afraid someone will ask a deep theological question we can't answer. But look at the man Jesus delivered in Luke 8. He didn't go to seminary. He didn't have a degree. He had zero ministry background.

What did he have? A story.

Your testimony is your greatest tool. Nobody can argue with how Jesus saved your marriage, healed your perspective, or gave you peace in the middle of suffering. You don’t need to know everything to share the One who changed everything.

How did you find out about the grace, peace, and love of God? It wasn't random. Someone was intentional. Someone was sen...

How did you find out about the grace, peace, and love of God? It wasn't random. Someone was intentional. Someone was sent. Someone opened their mouth and shared their story with you.

God's strategy for reaching a broken, hurting world hasn't changed. He doesn't rely on perfect theology or flawless communication; He relies on available people. You are the method. Your changed life is the proof. Who needs to hear your story today?

Knowing Jesus is absolutely enough to save you, give you peace, and secure your eternity. But it is not all there is to being His disciple.

We’ve turned faith into a consumer experience. We hop from church to church, podcast to podcast, yelling, "Feed me!" We think maturity is measured by how much information we sit and consume.

But sitting is only half the assignment.

You weren't rescued just to sit around and look comfortable. In Christ, you aren't just saved—you are SENT. If you’re only ever consuming and never applying, it’s not maturity. It’s disobedience. It's time to get up and share what you've been fed.
