Santo Niño Missional Community Santo Nino is the gift of faith by the Spaniards in 1521 to the Filipinos.

The first Filipino community in the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, with the hope of bringing Asia Pacific Filipino believers, in honor of Santo Nino, the Little Child Jesus.

Congratulations, Rev. Fr. Nelson Flores!

With grateful hearts, we celebrate your Reception to the Priesthood of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas on September 5, 2026, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. We give thanks to God for your vocation and for this new chapter of your priestly ministry. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide you as you proclaim the Gospel, celebrate the Sacraments, care for God’s people, and serve the Church faithfully.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Fr. David Nelson, our pastor and preacher, for his leadership and presence during the Rite of Reception. Our sincere thanks go to all the members of the Vestry of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church for their support, as well as to the Santo Niño Missional Community team and everyone who generously shared their time, talents, and service to make this joyful celebration successful.

Special thanks to Kuya Jecho for documenting this memorable occasion through video recording, and to James for providing and managing the sound system. Your contributions helped preserve and enrich this important moment in the life of our community.

The Santo Niño Community warmly invites everyone to a special and joyful celebration of faith, ministry, and fellowship as we gather for the Rite of Reception of Rev. Nelson Flores as clergy of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.

This meaningful celebration will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 2535 E. Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581. The Rite of Reception will be presided over by Bishop Hector Monterroso, the Bishop Assistant for the Episcopal Diocese of Texas.

This occasion marks an important moment in the life and ministry of Rev. Nelson Flores as he is formally received into the clergy of the Episcopal Church and begins a new chapter of service within the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. This celebration is not only for Rev. Flores and his family, but also for the Santo Niño Community, St. Andrew’s, and all who have accompanied and supported him in his journey of faith and ministry.

We invite friends, families, parishioners, clergy, and members of the wider community to join us in prayer and thanksgiving as we witness this sacred moment. Your presence will make this celebration even more meaningful as we give thanks to God for the gift of vocation and for the continuing call to serve Christ and His Church.

Following the Mass, everyone is invited to remain for fellowship and a community meal. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share as we celebrate together in the spirit of friendship, gratitude, and Christian fellowship.

Come and celebrate with us as we welcome Rev. Nelson Flores into the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and pray for God’s continued blessing upon his ministry.
