On Sunday, we present our final sermon in our current sermon series, Fearless: Journey to the Promised Land, a Journey to Confidence in Christ. This series has been amazing, and if you have missed any of the messages, we invite you to go to our YouTube Channel to view any and all of them. The Israelites were so afraid of physical discomfort after they were freed from Pharoah that they were ready to return to slavery rather than put their trust in the provision of the God who had freed them (and was actively present in a cloud or pillar of fire). The promise we have in a life in Christ is not one of physical safety. We have no assurance that our earthly lives will be safe and secure. The promise we receive in Christ is that no matter what each day brings it will ALWAYS bring with it the love of the God of the universe. Resting in the unfailing promise of God’s presence and love can help us to find peace in the midst of fear.

CJ Harris Elementary School's annual Trunk or Treat event is coming up on October 29! From 5:30-7:00 pm, children will trick or treat by visiting decorated car trunks filled with candy in the CJ Harris Elementary parking lot, at 2314 Schleider, just off of Barry Rose Rd.

You can participate by decorating your car with a fun theme. Please complete the registration form by Monday, October 26.

Put on your best costume, grab your family, and join us for an evening full of skating, smiles, and spooky (but not too spooky!) fun with your church family. Light refreshments will be served, and the for-purchase snack bar will be open.

On Sunday, we looked at the story in Exodus 14 of Moses and Aaron freeing the Israelites from Pharoah. The Israelite people are actively beginning their hike across the desert when Pharaoh changes his mind, sending troops in pursuit to bring them back into slavery in Egypt.

We might not have a Pharoah of an Egyptian Army to fear, but being a slave to sin is still something we all deal with. But Christ died on the cross so that you and I could be set free from the bo***ge of slavery to sin. If we fully allow our Salvation to change who we are and how we understand ourselves to be, we can overcome our own fears and relish in our freedom in Christ.
