We are so excited to introduce our summer worship series:

🌿 "Life in Full Bloom" A journey through the Fruits of the Spirit

Starting this Sunday, June 7, we'll begin exploring what it looks like to live a life that bears real, beautiful, lasting fruit — the kind that only grows when we stay connected to Jesus.

Throughout the rest of the Summer, we'll dig into:

🍇 Love
😊 Joy
☮️ Peace
⏳ Patience
🤝 Kindness
💛 Goodness
🙏 Faithfulness
🌱 Gentleness
💪 Self-Control

From Galatians 5:22–23, the Fruits of the Spirit aren't just a checklist — they're the natural overflow of a life deeply rooted in God's grace.

📅 Sundays @ 11:00 am 📍 Pearisburg First United Methodist Church

We'd love for you to join us for this series. Bring a friend — there's a seat for everyone. 🌸

🕊

This past Sunday we sat with a challenging and timely passage, Luke 21:5–19, where Jesus speaks honestly about conflict, division, and the pressures his followers will face in the world.

His words don't sugarcoat it. There will be disagreement. There will be tension. But He says: "By your endurance you will gain your souls."

Ministry in a polarized world doesn't mean we avoid hard conversations. It means we:
1️⃣ Stay rooted in Jesus, not in political sides
2️⃣ Speak truth with love, not with a desire to win
3️⃣ Endure with patience, grace, and hope

The Church is at its best when it refuses to be defined by the divisions of the culture, and instead offers something the world desperately needs: a community table of grace.

💬 What helps you stay grounded and loving when conversations get tense or divisive?

All through June, we're celebrating ordinary heroes of faith. The people who didn't make the headlines but quietly changed the world around them through faithful love, service, and dedication.

We're talking about:
▶ The Sunday school teacher who taught the same class for 30 years
▶ The missionary who gave up comfort to serve others
▶ The lay leader who showed up every week without being asked
▶ The neighbor who prayed for your family by name

These are the people who remind us that God doesn't just use the famous or the powerful. He uses the faithful.

💬 We want to hear from YOU: Who is an "ordinary hero of faith" in your life? Tag them in the comments or share their story. Let's celebrate the people whose quiet faithfulness has made a big difference. 👇

Summer is almost here, and with it comes a new kind of rhythm: longer days, slower mornings, and a chance to breathe a little differently.

As you step into this new season, here's a word to carry with you:
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." - Isaiah 43:19

God doesn't take a summer break. His work in you and through you continues in the backyard, at the ballfield, on vacation, and right here in our community.

This summer, stay open. Stay curious. Stay close to God.

💬 What's one thing you're looking forward to this summer?

Since it’s Star Wars Day, we have to ask:
When someone says, “May the Force be with you,” does anybody else instinctively want to reply,
“And also with you”? 😅⛪🌌

It’s funny—but it also points to something real. As followers of Jesus, we don’t walk through life powered by luck, willpower, or some mysterious force. We go in the strength and presence of God’s Holy Spirit.

Scripture reminds us:
“Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.”
— Ephesians 6:10

Whatever this week holds, you do not face it alone.
God is with you:

1️⃣ In the ordinary moments
2️⃣ In the hard conversations
3️⃣ In the decisions you need to make
4️⃣ In the places where you need courage, peace, and wisdom

So as you head into this week, remember: You don’t need to “use the Force” — just stay close to the One who is already with you. 💙

💬 Just for fun:
What’s your favorite Star Wars line — or your favorite church phrase everyone knows by heart?
