If you are a student or school worker going back to school this week, don’t forget to bring your bag with you to worship. Lay it up by the altar when you come in and we will proclaim a blessing over them for a wonderful year ahead.

We will also have some tags for you to take for anyone in your life who is going back to school but won’t be in attendance. We pray these will be an outpouring of love and a conversation starter to all who may encounter them.

Pearisburg First United Methodist Church is hiring!
We’re seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant (20 hours/week) to support our church staff with bookkeeping, records, and day-to-day administrative needs.

What you’ll do:
1️⃣ Assist with bookkeeping and financial record-keeping
2️⃣ Maintain church records with confidentiality and care
3️⃣ Provide administrative/secretarial support to church staff
4️⃣ Create church materials and publications
5️⃣ Respond to phone and email inquiries and welcome visitors

Requirements:
1️⃣ High school diploma (required) + some college or applicable experience (preferred)
2️⃣ Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, and financial software)
3️⃣ Basic bookkeeping skills
4️⃣ Excellent people skills, organization, honesty, and confidentiality

Schedule & location: Primary duties at the church office, with some flexibility and limited remote work.
