For the seniors' last full day in DC, they met with a few special people, members of our Mississippi legislative delegation, including Congressman Michael Guest, Congressman Trent Kelly, Congressman Mike Ezell, and Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. The students had an opportunity to ask questions and share their goals for the future. They represented TCM with excellence!

They enjoyed a tour of the Capitol, which included the opportunity to sit in the House of Representatives Gallery and view the proceedings, as the House is currently in session.

Several exciting moments occurred throughout the day as they saw several notable politicians and a highlight of the whole trip was seeing the President's motorcade pass by as they waited to cross the street.

The evening ended with gelato and more scooter rides (a trip favorite!) at the National Mall.

Please keep the students and their chaperones in your prayers as they travel home today!

So excited about the Kids' Fun Review tomorrow! The Primary Class and Pre-Teen Class will compete in a Jeopardy-style quizzing. Broke out the old Bible Quizzing buzzer system for the occasion! The Kindergarten and Beginner classes will play a board game review. Then we will all come together to eat (of course!). Next, we will play a couple of activities pertaining to some of the lessons from the quarter. And finish up with a cool water arts-and-crafts toy to bring home! Looking forward to these kids enjoying their own fellowship activity, and hearing what all they can recall from their Sunday School and Children's Church classes.

What an amazing time of praise and worship we had with the kids on Wednesday! This was the second song we sang, and they did such a beautiful job of singing. But the sweet looks on their faces as they sang...priceless. We talked about the lyrics before we sang the song, to explain what is actually being sung. The presence of the Lord was felt up there in the midst of these kids' worship! We discussed that other ways to worship include clapping (as some do while singing). And others may raise one or both hands. Maybe swaying or dancing or jumping. And even that it is ok to speak or shout a "Hallelujah ", "Thank you, Jesus ", "Praise God", etc in the midst of the singing. We told them that this wasn't an interruption of worship, but rather an expression of what we are feeling on the inside that we just gotta get out!
Praise and worship has been discussed many times in their Sunday School classes. And they see it during service. And they are doing what has been taught and what has been demonstrated. Thank you all, teachers and Saints, for the teaching and the example! Hope you all have an opportunity to sing this song with your child/children this weekend. It is a beautiful sound!

It has been awesome to see and hear the kids participate in praise and worship. On Wednesday night, we sang this song by Charity Gayle, "I Speak Jesus". And they did not shy away from singing it loud and with enthusiasm! They did a wonderful job of praising His name. This link has the lyrics as it plays, just in case you all want to have a moment of worship at home with them.

Tonight, the kids had a race. But this wasn't your average race. They all got down on their bellies, and had to drag/propel themselves with only their arms. No legs allowed! It was quite the spectacle to watch. But they learned the struggle of the man at the pool of Bethesda. How he tried and failed many years to race to the waters, to try to be the first to get there to receive a healing after the angel stirred the waters. But more than that, they learned that Jesus has the power to heal and the authority to forgive sin.
Maybe you could challenge your kid to a race, a belly and arm race, and see who wins! And just see how much they might be able to teach YOU about the lesson!

Primary Class (3rd and 4th grade) had a discussion on the plan of salvation. They reviewed confession of sin, baptism in Jesus's name, and the gift of the Holy Ghost. What is a soul what is sin? They reviewed the following scriptures: 1 John 3:4; Romans 6:4.
You could have your child read those scriptures, and ask them if they can remember why those scriptures were discussed in class. In so doing, perhaps they can recall their lesson and "educate" you while they teach!

The Kindergarten class discussed The Lord's Supper on Sunday. After Sunday School, the congregation partook of Communion Service. Your kids were able to observe and experience what they learned IMMEDIATELY in service. It could be quite interesting to ask them what they thought of the service, and allow them to ask questions.
