After surviving the Great Plains Conference last week, the appointment book apparently suffered a traumatic brain injury and you are stuck with me as your pastor again for another year. I called around but no one else wanted me. I'm pretty sure some of you are not thrilled, but you'll just have to grin and bear it.

God did not send his only begotten Son into the world to preach good news, die on a cross, and rise from the dead to change an earthly political circumstance for the Jews in First Century Israel, or to improve Republican or Democratic agendas in 21st Century America. God came down to establish a Kingdom that is not of this world, a Kingdom of priests, a holy nation that shows mercy, mourns, cultivates a pure heart, is poor in spirit, works for peace, pursues righteousness, etc. (Acts 1:6-8; Matthew 5-7) Lets set this straight in our own hearts and minds.
