Jesus said, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:58).
On Pentecost, Jesus sent the promised Spirit to lead us into all truth.
This Sunday we celebrate the most basic and central truth of the Christian faith … the affirmation of one God who has revealed Himself in three persons -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is a great mystery of the faith and one which we confess not by reason of our understanding, but by reason of God's revelation. It is also a mystery that we rejoice in, for this is the God who created us, who redeemed us, who sanctifies us... and who loves us.

Dear God...On this Memorial Day, we thank You for those who courageously laid down their lives for our freedom. May the examples of their sacrifice keep us mindful of the selfless love of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for our freedom from the power of sin, death and the devil.
Bless the families of our fallen troops, and fill their homes and their lives with Your strength, comfort, and peace.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

On Pentecost, the fiftieth day after Easter, we remember the coming of the Spirit in power upon Christ's disciples. Proceeding from the Father, He is sent by the Son as the promised presence of God with us after Jesus’ Ascension. He is the Counselor, the Intercessor, the Consoler, the Comforter, the Advocate, and the Helper of God's people day-to-day. That blessed Spirit comes among God’s people, calling, gathering, enlightening, and sanctifying them through Word and Sacrament.
"I believe that I cannot by my own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith” (Luther’s Small Catechism).

"God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet" (Psalm 47:5).
The Ascension of our Lord is a Church festival that celebrates the completion of the earthly phase of Jesus' work of salvation. His ascension (40 days after His resurrection) is a simple, yet powerful action, that affirms the completion of His work here on earth, His Lordship over all things, ushers in the sending of the Spirit, brings the promise of His intercession on our behalf before the Father and, ultimately, His return to judge the living and the dead.
Please join us this Sunday as we celebrate the Ascension of our Lord.
Sunday School and Adult Bible Class meet at 9:30 am.
We worship at 10:30 am.

Our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ -- the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world -- stepped into death and emerged alive for you... to bring you forgiveness, life, and salvation. We are His sheep by faith. We listen to His voice and follow Him. His victory is ours and we will live just as He lives.
"I am the Good Shepherd. I lay down My life for the sheep. The reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life -- only to take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of My own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from My Father. My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will sn**ch them out of My hand." (John 10:14a, 15b, 17-18, 27-28)
Please join us this "Good Shepherd Sunday" as we are fed and nourished by, and worship and praise, our dear Savior, Jesus.
