Nordland Lutheran Church is congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA) located in the countryside by Hawick, MN Welcome to Nordland!

The people of God who gather at Nordland invite you to join us in our fellowship around the Word and the Sacrament. Our "family" has about 500 members and we enjoy having vacationers and other friends come and gather with us. At Nordland, you'll find a group of people who are friendly and loving based in the love of our Father who made us His children in Christ Jesus. You'll be welcomed into the community of the Spirit as you join us in Worship, Christian Education and Fellowship.

The community churches couldn’t do their annual Moonlight Meanders with the Trail Guards doing their wonderful work maintaining the trails along the Crow. If you’re interested in showing your appreciation, consider supporting their sale!

Parents! Here are some important dates to add to your calendars:

Wednesday, September 9th is orientation for both Confirmation kids AND parents at 6:30.

Sunday, September 13th is Rally Sunday. Bring those Sunday School age kids in for some fun and games. There we will also be blessing backpacks and welcoming preschoolers.

Wednesday, September 16th is our “Fun Night”.
Try shooting a bow and arrow and have some water-related fun! All ages welcome. We will be serving supper to everyone that shows up. It will run 6-8 pm.

Sunday, September 20th our Sunday School officially starts. Classes are from 9:30-10:15

This Sunday is our annual BBQ Bash at Nordland Park. This year's musical guests are Josie Sanken and Custom Made Band. Bring the whole family and share this event with your neighbors!

All proceeds go towards much-needed Sunday School Renovations, so please share this with as many people as you can!

Mission Trip Update

Day 5 - Our final service day! Today we started out at Rainer Valley Food Bank where the youth packed up bags full of groceries that will be delivered by volunteers to those who need it. Tony, the service site manager said they deliver 800-1,000 bags each and every week so they rely on volunteers to pack the bags. It was a great reminder to help wherever we can and that every bit counts.

The afternoon we were able to sightsee a bit at Bainbridge Island and soak up the very last bit of Seattle. Pray for safe travels home tomorrow, we are excited to share our experiences with you all!

Mission Trip Update -

Day 4- This morning we loaded up and headed to North Ridge Food Bank where we distributed food to those who needed it. They shared that they support 350 households with food everyday. They were so great to work with and it was so great to meet so many people in a short time. It was a high light for many of us.

The afternoon we did yard work for a lovely lady through Catholic Volunteer Services. She was ever so grateful that we were there and was so surprised at how hard the group work. She never thought we’d get through it all, but we did!

Each day the group is able to worship with each other after our day is done and enjoyed communion with the other groups here.

Sad that tomorrow is our last service day, but looking forward to what is in store!

Mission trip update!
Day 1 the group arrived a little early and were able to see the sights of Seattle. Experienced the Space Needle and Pike’s Market and checked into the host church Phinney Lutheran Church.

Day 2 the group helped garden in the Asian Resource Service Center. This garden helps support the local community with fresh garden produce. They also spent the afternoon meeting new friends with severe disabilities learn to be mobile with music and dance at Adaptive Inclusive Movement. (No pictures allowed)

Day 3 we spend time cooking a meal for unhoused women and children for Union Gospel Mission. The kids did so great cooking, serving the food, and having fellowship with those who live there. You’d be so proud of them and how well they interacted.

More to come for their last 2-3 days here. Continue to pray for God’s blessings on their work here in Seattle!
