After closing the church and the final paperwork we found out that there were miss calculations. The additional funds that were found we were able to give to a wonderful organization called Enzo’s Escorts. They are the ones that es**rt kids to their final round of treatment. For more information please watch the videos we have linked below. That final check was delivered last night.

As we start 2026 we are finally able to announce that as of 12/30/2025 we have officially closed out the church with the state of RI.

What does this mean? This means that the entity of Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church is no longer in existence.

However, this does not mean that this is the end of this Church. We will still post things on this page and turn it into more of a legacy page where we will share pictures and encourage you to share your memories of the church.

Thank you to all those that had a hand in closing the church before the end of 2025 as this was something that we had set as a goal at the beginning of last year.

This Sunday - the 4th Sunday of Advent - a little more of our church is now being loved by a whole new Church. Some of our Chrismon ornaments were given to Slatersville Congregational Church last year as they are the only Church around that has a Chrismon Tree. This Sunday after lots of TLC our topper was lovingly placed on top of their tree to be loved by a new congregation.
