Omar Shaheed III made history as South Carolina State University’s first graduate in the university’s new engineering program, receiving his degree on December 11, 2025, at the age of 23.

As the inaugural student to enroll in the program at the HBCU which blends mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer science, he paved the way for future specialists in robotics and smart systems.

Shortly after graduation, he began his career at Boeing South Carolina. 🚀

History is made when preparation meets purpose.

From the classroom to the career field, Omar’s journey is proof that determination, vision, and hard work can open doors no one has walked through before. A true inspiration for the next generation of leaders, engineers, and dreamers.
