Pleasant View Baptist Church first came into being because of the faith of a young Christian man, Virgil Anthony, because of his interest for the spiritul needs of the community, a Sunday School was organized in Via's school in 1933. Under the leadership of Rev.D.F.Roach, from Blackberry Baptist Church, and Rev.W.J.Yeaman, from First Baptist Church in Bassett, Pleasant View Baptist Church was orga

nized with six members May 25, 1935. Thoses members were: Mr.& Mrs. Wilbert Spencer, Mrs. Bessie Craig, Mrs. Dovie Joyce and Mr. & Mrs.E.S.Moore. The land for the church and cemetery was donated by Mr. Burton Joyce.
