Paul’s Parish Mission Statement: to be a thriving, loving, Christ-centered parish; a parish who knows Christ and makes Chri
st known. We take seriously our Baptismal Covenant that says we will respect the dignity of every human being. You are welcome to worship with us, to join with us in fellowship, and in our ministries, regardless of age, economic status, marital status, nationality, race, sexual orientation or gender identity, ability or disability, and wherever you are in your spiritual journey. Paul's is the third oldest Episcopal church in Suffolk County. The original church building, located on West Main Street, was constructed in 1843. In 1883 the parish relocated to its present quarters at 31 Rider Avenue and is one of the few remaining examples of churches built in the Stick Style. Our Theology is a middle way between Catholic and Protestant traditions. We interpret scripture and tradition for the practice of our faith today in light of our God-given reason. Corporate worship is at the heart of our life as a faith community. We celebrate the Eucharist each Sunday and on special holy days. All Baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion. We are nourished as we join together in communion to give thanks and praise to God; and to be strengthened to continue God's work in the world. Our liturgical style is traditional but relaxed, which reflects the welcoming and inclusive attitude of our parishioners. Today, as we enter into the world of social media, we are committed to carrying on the proud traditions of the past, while meeting head-on the challenges of the future.
