th us in fellowship, and in our ministries, regardless of age, economic status, marital status, nationality, race, sexual orientation or gender identity, ability or disability, and wherever you are in your spiritual journey. Paul's is the third oldest Episcopal church in Suffolk County. The original church building, located on West Main Street, was constructed in 1843. In 1883 the parish relocated to its present quarters at 31 Rider Avenue and is one of the few remaining examples of churches built in the Stick Style. Our Theology is a middle way between Catholic and Protestant traditions. We interpret scripture and tradition for the practice of our faith today in light of our God-given reason. We welcome all of God's children. Corporate worship is at the heart of our life as a faith community. We celebrate the Eucharist each Sunday and on special holy days. All Baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion. We are nourished as we join together in communion to give thanks and praise to God; and to be strengthened to continue God's work in the world. Our liturgical style is traditional but relaxed, which reflects the welcoming and inclusive attitude of our parishioners. Today, as we enter into the world of social media, we are committed to carrying on the proud traditions of the past, while meeting head-on the challenges of the future.

PROPER 5
Abram simply got up and went, leaving everything familiar behind on the strength of God’s promise alone. That leap of faith echoes through Paul’s letter as the very model of how grace works: not through law, but through trust in a God who gives life to the dead and calls into existence things that do not exist. Jesus embodies that same life-giving grace as he calls a despised tax collector, dines with sinners, heals a woman deemed untouchable, and raises a little girl from death; he came not for the righteous but for those who know their need of a physician. All good proceeds from this God who inspires, guides, and makes good on every promise.
- -

RENEWAL OF VOWS
Last Saturday, Michelle and Jeff Hansson renewed their wedding vows that they made nearly four decades ago on a Saturday. Their friends and family gathered as they recommitted themselves to God and each other in the presence of the church. A beautiful way to celebrate one’s wedding anniversary. Are you interested in renewing your wedding vows? Speak to Jo-Mary in the parish office, or to Father James or Deacon Claire next time you see them around the Saint Paul’s campus.

WEEKNIGHTS AT 8PM - COMPLINE ON ZOOM
Join us for Compline: the church’s night prayer! This quiet service has been prayed by Christians for centuries as a way to end the day in peace and trust in God’s care.
The prayers are gentle, the psalms are calming, and the atmosphere is filled with stillness and light. There is no need to bring anything or to know any of the words. Simply come, listen, and let the rhythm of prayer prepare your heart for rest.
We will meet together via zoom weeknights at 8PM, giving thanks for the blessings of the day and placing our hopes into God’s keeping for the night ahead. Join us! Email the parish office for more details. [email protected]

ANGLICAN ROSARY (Wednesday at 10:30AM)
The catechism in the Book of Common Prayer (page 856) states the principal kinds of prayer are adoration, praise, thanksgiving, penitence, oblation, intercession, and petition. We invite the parish to take part in an our first Wednesday of the month spiritual practice at Saint Paul’s: the Anglican Rosary (prayer beads). Deacon Claire will lead those interested in the month of June’s personalized prayers based on the upcoming gospel readings. This 15 minute contemplative exercise in meditation and prayer will take place in the chapel, next to the parish office at 10:30 this Wednesday Morning as Deacon Claire leads us in prayer, followed by the 11:00am Mass. Anglican Rosaries will be available for those who attend.
