05-27-26 Wednesday Evening Service "Strengthening & Redeeming the House of Judah" - Zechariah 10:6-8

v6 "they shall be as though I had not cast them off" - When Israel (or any of us) strays from God and He chastens us, when we confess & return to God, He fully restores His fellowship & blessing upon us.
v7 "their heart shall rejoice...and be glad" - This v6-8 passage continues to assure the nation of Israel that God will restore them to a full relationship with Him after the 70-year captivity and then again in the Tribulation. This restoration will cause great joy.
v8 - This “hiss” (or whistle) is a shepherd’s call signal symbolizing God’s personal summons to gather His people. The nation of Israel will be gathered & redeemed.

We thank our soldiers who have been willing to give their lives to protect us & our freedoms. But there has been a slow erosion of these freedoms as a spiritual & moral darkness descends on our nation with many people denying God & the authority of His Word. As a soldier of Jesus Christ, let us be dedicated, disciplined, and faithful to the end of the battle. For the believer, the present darkness is a reminder that our Lord is coming back to overcome all evil.

v2 - During the Babylonian captivity, the false gods & prophets of the "idols" and "diviners" led the nation of Israel astray from their God. There were no true shepherds, or spiritual leaders, for Israel.
v3 - The LORD was angry with the false prophets (aka false shepherds & goats), and punished them. But for the "house of Judah" (aka nation of Israel), the LORD will bless.
v4 - "Him" is the Lord Jesus Christ that will provide salvation for Israel and the world.
v5 - The LORD will make the nation of Israel "mighty" and will bring ultimate victory.

05-13-26 Wednesday Evening Service "If We Ask, God Will Provide" - Zechariah 10:1; Isa 35:1-2, 43:19-20

Zech 10:1 says to ask God for rain to provide for the crops, or "grass in the field."
Why do we have to ask God for the things He already knows we need?
* To bring our attention to Him as our Provider.
* To cause us to exercise our faith in Him to provide.
* To make sure we don't start taking His grace & provision for granted.
We must be careful to pray for God's will and trust that He will answer in His own timing & way.

The heart of a godly mother:
* is virtuous
* loves her children (and grandchildren)
* cares for her children's needs
* teaches her children to care about others
* is an example of strength and honor
* speaks forth God's wisdom in a spirit of kindness
* desires to be busy but not a busybody.
There are many good mothers, but only God can make a GODLY mother.
