On May 26th SNUCS family, students and faculty were honored to have the police deparment bring several cars and motorcycles to and speak to us. The officers gave a short presentation and then were asked a plethora of questions from the students. Everyone was thrilled when the officers allowed any student or teacher to come and sit on the motorcycles or police cars and play with the various sirens. I am not sure our neighbors were happy with this.

Students then presented cards that they made for all First Reponsders, the Police, Fire and Amublance departments. They thanked them for all they do to make our communities safe, and for all the sacrifices they make, and for being models for our society. We are grateful to Mrs. Samantha Maksymiw who organized the event and to her helper Mrs. Motrja Fedorko.

St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School celebrated "Vyshyvanka Day" by wearing their beautiful shirts and blouses displaying their rich cultural tradition. In addition, students, faculty and staff were treated to a delicious Ukrainian lunch...pyrohy, holubchi, potato pancakes, kompot and pampuchki. During this day we also remembered in a special way our brothers and sisters in Ukraine fighing for their faith and freedom. It was a blessed day!

SNUCS Grades 4 - 8 ventured to NYC to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. They travelled on the ferry and stepped upon the ground that some of their ancestors stepped upon as they came to America. It was an awesome experience. Thank you to our PTA for this opportunity!

At SNUCS yesterday, our young 3rd grade rock detectives explored rocks and minerals in preparation for our trip to Sterling Hill Mines today!!!. Students observed different colors, textures, shapes and shine while making predictions like real geologists. We are so excited to continue our learning underground and discover even more about minerals, caves, mines, and fluorescent rocks!🔦
