🌿 Listening to God’s Voice: A Call to Action 🌿
What a grace-filled weekend of prayer, reflection, fellowship, and renewal with our Friends of Carmel community.
Our retreat, “Listening to God’s Voice: A Call to Action,” led by Fr. Michael “Mike” Joyce, O.Carm., reminded us of something at the very heart of Carmelite spirituality: to become still enough to listen for God’s voice—and courageous enough to respond.
In the silence of prayer, God invites us into a deeper relationship with Him. But contemplation does not end in silence. What we receive in prayer is meant to transform how we live, love, serve, forgive, and care for one another.
As friends of Carmel, may we continue to create that interior space where God can speak. And when we hear His gentle voice, may our answer be:
“Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” — 1 Samuel 3:10
May our prayer lead us to action, our contemplation lead us to compassion, and our love of God lead us into loving service of others.

Today, we joyfully celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, followed by a simple fellowship shared in faith and community.
As Lay Carmelites, we are reminded of Mary's loving invitation to draw closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, through prayer, contemplation, and faithful service. May Our Lady of Mount Carmel continue to wrap us in the protection of her Brown Scapular and lead us ever deeper into God's love.

Happy Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel! 🤎
"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me... For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." — Matthew 11:28–30
On this special feast day, may we entrust ourselves to the loving care of Our Blessed Mother. The Brown Scapular is a beautiful sign of Mary's protection, our commitment to follow Christ, and a reminder to live each day in faith, prayer, and holiness.
May Our Lady of Mount Carmel wrap you in her maternal mantle, strengthen you in every trial, and lead you always to her Son, Jesus Christ.

🙏 Good Friday Reflection 🙏
Today, we pause and remember the depth of love, sacrifice, and grace.
On this sacred day, may we reflect on the meaning of the cross — a reminder of compassion, forgiveness, and unwavering faith. Even in sorrow, there is hope. Even in sacrifice, there is redemption.
As we walk through this day, may our hearts be filled with humility, gratitude, and peace.
Wishing our dear Friends of Carmel community a blessed and meaningful Good Friday. ✝️
