🐅 On Sunday we started our new unit TAKE THE LEAD about the stories of Moses with the theme of a jungle adventure! Our Big Idea was, ‘God teaches us how to lead!’ 🦍

We heard the story of Moses’ childhood rescue and call from the burning bush. We explored our story with discussion and a craft! 🔥

🛌 On Sunday, we wrapped up our sleepy month about Joseph (and 3 months in Genesis!) with the Big Idea, ‘We can obey God above anyone else!’ 💤

We explored the story of the Hebrew midwives refusing Pharoah’s order and what obeying God means through some rounds of ‘Save the Baby’ and discussion. We celebrated the end of our long night and God’s constant presence with a joyful sunshine craft ☀️

I’ll let you all read between the lines about how challenging that story was to build a lesson on 😵‍💫😅🤣

💭 On Wednesday, our Big Idea was, ‘God can make things right!’ 😴

🌟 We explored the story of Joseph forgiving his brothers, made constellation projectors, and drew prayer pillowcases! 🙏

We had a stunning 11 kids attend, 6 of whom were visitors! Everyone was remarkably well behaved and attentive— far more so than when I only have 4 on a Wednesday night!

Also, anyone who had assembled a nightlight the week before got to bring it home 💡

Note: I have to obscure the faces of children without media releases on file from VBS or prior Sunday/Wednesday attendance.

⭐️ Last Wednesday night, our Big Idea was ‘God watches over us!’ 😴

We heard the story of Joseph’s time in Egypt— from servitude in Potiphar’s house and wrongful imprisonment to interpreting Pharaoh’s dream and rising to authority. God was watching over Joseph the whole time. We made nightlights covered in things God has given us that make us feel loved and safe! 💡

They were been re-Mod Podged and acrylic sealed on Sunday— tonight they get to assemble the final product! 🌙

(Apparently I did not get many pictures! It was a pretty sticky time, haha.)
