After eight years of musical excellence and heartfelt dedication, we bid farewell to Dr. Zanaida Robles as she steps away from her role here at NUUC.

Her work has shaped our choir into a vibrant, world-class ensemble and nurtured a spirit of inclusivity, creativity, and joy.

She has worked with our youth and Bell Choir, too, inspiring musicians from all walks of life to pursue music as a beautiful part of our living faith as a Unitarian Universalist.

We will always be cheering for you, Zanaida, and we know you will go on to do so many more great things! 🫶

Thanks to all who came out in support of the unveiling of “Free Them All” by Jasmine Baetz in the NUUC Remembrance & Renewal Room

This work is the culmination of a years-long journey of historical accountability, confronting our church’s ties to Robert Millikan, his injustices and the harm inflicted through forced sterilization policies that impacted over 20,000 marginalized people in California.

The work invites us into a shared act of remembrance and reckoning. The installation is built from hundreds of “interior fist” forms—each shaped by members of our community in a collective gesture of holding, squeezing, and releasing clay. These forms embody deeply human responses: pain, anger, power, and witness.

Thank you and congratulations to the Truth & Reconciliation Committee for all your hard work on this initiative through these last several years ✨

✨Meet the Artist: Jasmine Baetz

This Sunday, March 29th at 11 AM, we unveil Free Them All—a powerful new installation created for the Remembrance & Renewal Room at Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church.

This work is the culmination of a years-long journey of historical accountability, confronting our church’s ties to Robert Millika, his injustices and the harm inflicted through forced sterilization policies that impacted over 20,000 marginalized people in California.

Through Free Them All, artist Jasmine Baetz invites us into a shared act of remembrance and reckoning. The installation is built from hundreds of “interior fist” forms—each shaped by members of our community in a collective gesture of holding, squeezing, and releasing clay. These forms embody deeply human responses: pain, anger, power, and witness.

This is not a static monument. It is a living archive of communal memory, a space for reflection, and a call toward reconciliation and renewal.

Join us as we gather to honor the past, hold space for grief, and commit ourselves to a more just future.

We are proud to be in partnership and support the amazing work you all do in our community! Thank you for being with us!

Join Neighborhood Church and for an Immigrant Solidarity Workshop at NUUC on 👉 Sunday, February 8th @ 11:30am

In this community gathering, organizers will lead discussion about concrete ways to support the immigrant housecleaners, nannies, gardeners, day laborers, and caregivers who sustain our homes and communities.

You’ll learn how to build trust and leverage your own resources to offer support to immigrant domestic workers: creating emergency plans together, offering paid leave, accompanying workers to the bus stop, and much more.

Building solidarity at home and in your neighborhoods can help us create resilient, interdependent communities. Join us!

Unitarian Universalists answered the call by the hundreds, driving and flying from around the country to bear witness in the place where a federal officer shot an unarmed woman to death. They joined thousands of their fellow clergy, bundled in thick coats for protection against the bitter subzero cold.

And together, Unitarian Universalists and other people of faith marched and sang and prayed in Minneapolis on Friday, sending a powerful, unified message: that love is greater than ICE.
