We are the young adult community of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Pasadena, CA.

ABVM Young Adult Ministry's purpose is to create a home for young adults (18-39) to grow in the Roman Catholic faith, build Christ-centered community, and serve God and those in need. ABVM Young Adult Ministry's purpose is to create a home for young adults (18-39) to grow in the Roman Catholic faith, build Christ-centered community, and serve God and those in need. We meet weekly (Wednesdays 7pm Pacific in-person at ABVM's Community Center) and have some gatherings on weekends as well. Catch one of our members at Mass, or contact us for more information. Happy Monday, YAMily!

It was wonderful spending time with you all this past week. On Wednesday, we facilitated an evening of sharing our favorite books or podcasts. It was great to be able to share with our friends a bit about our reading styles and interests. It was super interesting to learn about each other, and we all came away with some stellar new recommendations.

As we continue our weekly get-togethers, here’s how you can get plugged in this week...

This Wednesday 10/7 @ 7.15pm in the ABVM Community Center (651 N. Sierra Madre Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107), we will get to hear from some of our fellow young adults from the Newman Center Pasadena. They will be sharing stories from their recent opportunity to walk the Camino de Santiago in Spain! The evening will begin with snacks & fellowship at 7.15pm, and the discussion will start around 7.30pm.

Happy Monday, YAMily!

It was wonderful spending time with you all this past week. On Wednesday, Gabby shared with us a preview of World Youth Day 2027, which will take place in Seoul, Korea. We learned about the history of Catholicism in Korea, about the Korean Martyrs, and even practiced some basic prayers in Korean!

Then, on Saturday, some of us attended the Fall Harvest Festival at the St. John Paul II Center in Yorba Linda. Between the food, drinks, music, dancing, and camaraderie, a better day could not have been had! Mark your calendars for next year’s festival!

And finally on Sunday we joined together to attend 11am Mass, followed by a celebration for the 10th anniversary of YAM! It’s amazing to think of how many young adults this group has had the honor of serving over the past ten years. Special thanks to our founders, Manny Soriano and Celine Yujuico-De Guzman for building something so great to last the test of time. We’re looking forward to the next ten years of building faith & fellowship together!

It’s almost certain you’ve heard his name, but who was this Saint whose Feast Day is coming up on Sep 27th? The evening will begin with snacks & fellowship at 7.15pm, and the talk will start around 7.30pm.

Happy Monday, YAMily!

It was wonderful spending time with you all this past week. On Wednesday, Karla led us in a Prayer Night. We had time to discuss what we’d like each other to pray for in our lives, and share some vulnerable moments with one another which are so meaningful. We also learned about Ignatian Prayer, a contemplative way to connect with God.

As we continue our weekly get-togethers, here’s how you can get plugged in this week...

This Wednesday 9/16 @ 7.15pm in the ABVM Community Center (651 N. Sierra Madre Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107), Gabby will be leading a talk on World Youth Day 2027, which will be taking place in August 2027 in Korea! The evening will begin with snacks & fellowship at 7.15pm, and the talk will start around 7.30pm.

On Saturday 9/19, join us for a field trip out to the St. John Paul II Center (3999 Rose Dr., Yorba Linda, CA 92886) for their 47th Annual Polish Fall Harvest “Dożynki” Festival! It is a lively time filled with delicious food, b**r, gifts, music, dancing, cultural exhibits, Saturday afternoon Vigil Mass, and more!
YAM folks will start to arrive around 1pm and plan to stay through late afternoon or early evening.

🥳ABVM is turning 10! On Sunday 9/20, we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of ABVM YAM! We will begin with 11am Mass at ABVM Church, followed by lunch and fellowship afterwards at the ABVM Community Center (651 N. Sierra Madre Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107). Any young adults as well as former YAM members are all welcome!

Happy Monday, YAMily!

It was wonderful spending time with you all this past week. On Wednesday, we gathered back at ABVM for the first time in a couple months and shared some stories about how our summers have been. We also took some time to submit ideas for what we want YAM to look like going forward - what we’d like to see more of, and how YAM can be more meaningful to our community.

On Wednesday 9/9, we will come together as Karla leads us in a Prayer Night at the ABVM Community Center, located at 651 N. Sierra Madre Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107. Doors will open at 7pm and we will get into the evening’s activities at 7.30pm.

Also, if you’ve seen a flyer for the 10th YAMiversary celebration on Saturday, Sep 12th, please note that the date has changed.

Happy Monday, YAMily!

It was wonderful spending time with you all this past week. On Wednesday, we joined our friends at the Newman Center to watch the final episode of Season 5 of The Chosen.

As we continue our weekly get-togethers, here’s how you can get plugged in this week...

On Wednesday 9/2, we will return to our usual Wednesday night gatherings at the ABVM Community Center, located at 651 N. Sierra Madre Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107. This week will be a welcome back from our summer run of The Chosen, along with discussing what we want our Fall to look like for YAM. Doors will open at 7pm and we will get into the evening’s activities at 7.30pm.
