Join us in honoring Tara-Lin Hollins as part of our 40 year anniversary celebration.
Tara-lin Hollins stumbled upon Harambee Ministries while in High School, she was looking for a job after school. When she applied for a job of course she only had one intention in mind. The staff at Harambee opened her eyes to a whole plethora of resources she was unaware existed right down the street from her childhood home. She thought she would just work a few hours a week to save money, instead she first volunteered that built her commitment to Harambee’s mission, attended weekly Bible Study that fostered her faith, and attended weekly College Preparatory classes that laid the foundation of her future career. Harambee became a vital part of her life. The staff at Harambee banded together to help Tara-lin every step of her High School, College, and Professional Career. Charlotte Van Fleet drove endless miles to preview colleges with Tara-lin, and made sure financial support was available to cover the price of Tara-lin’s education. Her Bible Study teacher, Flo, made sure Tara-lin had a focused and encouraging Bible Study group on campus at USC to continue Tara-lin’s growth in Christ. Rudy and Koffe Carrasco make sure Tara-lin had a strong recommendation and support for college and graduate school. Everyone at Harambee had a welcoming smile and encouraging words for Tara-lin along her journey. Tara-lin Hollins, MD is a double board certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Management Physician with a BS in Kinesiology from USC today because of the infinite love, tireless support, and unwavering encouragement of Harambee. The people of Harambee selflessly do God’s work every single day. They all come together and push with intention and purpose.
