Whatever you worship will eventually leave you thirsty.

If you worship career, platform, influence, or success
there’s never enough. More money. More followers. More recognition. More validation.

If you worship identity, sexuality, or self
you’ll keep searching for a version of yourself that finally feels complete. Your desires shift. Your preferences change. Your feelings fluctuate. And eventually, you realize you can’t carry the weight of being your own savior.

If you worship sports, hobbies, comfort, entertainment, or leisure
your joy rises and falls with circumstances. You’re always chasing the next win. The next trip. The next distraction. The next feeling.

But Jesus says in John 4: “Whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst.”

Because the deepest thirst of the human soul was never meant to be satisfied by fame, pleasure, identity, or achievement. Only by Him.

The woman at the well kept coming back thirsty. And honestly? So do we. Until we discover there’s a well that never runs dry.

Jesus doesn’t expose sin to punish. He exposes sin to heal.

In John 4, Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at a well — a woman carrying shame, rejection, and a story she probably hoped nobody would bring up.

But Jesus does. He tells her, “You’ve had five husbands
and the man you’re with now is not your husband.”

Not to embarrass her. Not to condemn her. But to show her: “I see all of you
 and I’m still here.”

And in the very same conversation, Jesus invites her into true worship. Worship in spirit and truth.

Because healing begins the moment we stop hiding.

The beautiful thing about Jesus is that He already knows — and still offers living water.

“We pretty much lost everything.”

When the Eaton Fire spread through Altadena, Osvaldo was in the back house he had been living in behind his father’s home — an ADU that wasn’t covered by insurance.

Now, he and his family are starting over from scratch.

“There was a lot of organizations to help at first, but those are gone.”

Since the fire, they’ve moved into a rental while trying to rebuild their lives piece by piece. Clothing and furniture have slowly been replaced, but the financial pressure hasn’t stopped.

“I’m sometimes working 18 hour days [for Uber] but it’s not enough.”

He’s the sole provider for his household while his wife stays home with the children, and the increased monthly expenses have become overwhelming. The family is currently enrolled in a low-income assistance program through the City of Pasadena, but even with support, they’ve fallen two months behind on rent.

At Renew Dena, we’re helping families impacted by the Eaton Fires recover with direct financial assistance, housing support, and community resources.

Every donation helps families like his stay housed while rebuilding their lives.

“We pretty much lost everything.”

When the Eaton Fire spread through Altadena, Osvaldo lost the back house he had been living in behind his father’s home — an ADU that wasn’t covered by insurance.

Now, he and his family are starting over from scratch.

Since the fire, they’ve moved into a rental while trying to rebuild their lives piece by piece. Clothing and furniture have slowly been replaced, but the financial pressure hasn’t stopped.

“I’m working sometimes 18 hour days for Uber and it’s not enough.”

He’s the sole provider for his household while his wife stays home with the children, and the increased monthly expenses have become overwhelming. His job was lost due to the impact of the fires. He had a seasonal job with hopes it turn long-term. Now he drives for Uber. His fiancĂ©e is a stay-at-home mom, which was navigable while they live on his father’s property. Now, they’re navigating uncertainty every day.

The family is currently enrolled in a low-income assistance program through the City of Pasadena, but even with support, they’ve fallen two months behind on rent.

“We’re just trying to survive.” They came to ReNew Dena as they risk facing eviction.

At Renew Dena, we’re helping families impacted by the Eaton Fires recover with direct financial assistance, housing support, and community resources.

Every donation helps families like his stay housed while rebuilding their lives.

When you were hiding in secret sin, you are holding yourself back from experiencing the fullness of God’s love. You cannot worship in the Spirit and in truth when you were living a lie. But here’s the real lie: that bringing your son to light you’ll experience shame, guilt, or condemnation the truth is that when you bring your son to the Lord, you receive love and forgiveness.

You can worship without repenting, but you will not experience the fullness of God‘s love because you have not allowed him to love you to the fullest.
