Meet some of our members!

Today, we’re introducing Cheryl Farrell, a cherished member of our FCC Pasadena community. When asked what makes FCC special to her, Cheryl shared:

“FCC Pasadena is special to me because members are so welcoming. ‘Come as you are.’ ‘Be who you are.’ Displaying unmitigated grace.”

We’re grateful for Cheryl’s words and for the spirit of welcome and grace she sees in our community. FCC Pasadena is a place where we can show up as our authentic selves, find belonging, and extend that same welcome to others.

Flat Jesus hasn’t just been traveling this summer, he’s also been showing up for our regular church services!

Meet some of our members!

Today we’re introducing Anne Cohen, a beloved member of our community. Here’s what FCCUCC has meant to her:

“My family came to FCC in Pasadena when I was an agnostic teenager, so I “grew up” in the arms of these loving people. They supported me when I went to seminary, and hosted my ordination... They threw my retirement party after 38 years in ministry - at church camp and college campus settings, in local churches and doing Interim Transformational work. One member has known me since I was 3 years old - which means something in this huge, changing world. These people have always walked the talk, becoming a Just Peace Church, a Sanctuary Church, an Open and Affirming Church ahead of most other religious communities. You can join us distributing school supplies at Friends in Deed, marching in Pride Parades and hanging out at “No Kings” Demonstrations. This is truly my Beloved Community - open, generous and making a positive difference in the world!”

Stay tuned as we continue introducing more of the wonderful people who make FCCUCC the community it is today.

Please join us as we stand in solidarity with the Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center against antisemitism.

This Thursday at **5:00 p.m.**, the Temple will hold a community vigil in response to the vandalism of their **Mural of Hope**, which was defaced with antisemitic graffiti last week. The vigil will take place on **Altadena Drive, just above Washington Blvd.**

The mural was created after the synagogue burned down during the Eaton Canyon fire. It represents the resilience of a community that has already endured so much.

A member of the Temple shared:
"This is the second time this year that our temple has been targeted with antisemitic vandalism. [Last week] someone painted swastikas and anti-Zionist graffiti across the mural at Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center, a mural created after our synagogue burned down and intended to represent hope, healing, and togetherness. My teenage daughter was one of the many volunteers who helped paint it."

Each month, FCCUCC partners with Friends In Deed to help stock their food pantry, and every year we volunteer with their school supply distribution for local students. Here he is joining some of our members and the amazing Friends In Deed staff as they help make a difference in our community.
