The CCC is proud to be a part of the DENA RISEUP COALITION. This week, we traveled with more than 100 Eaton fire survivors and community leaders fighting to include the CARE Fund in the next spending bill.

We believe love is an action.

We believe the local church is called to pray, practice presence, and advocate alongside our neighbors. The restoration of our beloved community ravaged by the Eaton Fire will take all our efforts.

To the Capitol for the shalom of the city.

¡Juntos en la Lucha! Together in the struggle!

Making history.

The CCC hosted our first stole blessing ceremony. The stoles, hand-stitched and woven by an all-female artisan indigenous community in Chiapas, MX, are a reminder of how justice and faith are always intertwined.

Our clergy and faith leaders communed over pan dulce and cafécito, while our Executive Director, Pastor Mayra Macedo-Nolan, and NDLON Co-Executive Director and Co-Founder, Pablo Alvarado, shared the history of their 15-year-long partnership in walking together in migrant solidarity in Pasadena. Founding President and Board Chair Pastor Jean Burch presented a framed commemorative art print and Immigrant’s Creed to our partners.

In a liturgy of covenants, twenty-two of our clergy spanning multiple denominations, traditions, and ethnicities proclaimed, Juntos en la Lucha – Together in the Struggle – as local community leaders from the Pasadena Community Job Center and NDLON placed stoles on their shoulders and clergy pledged to stand in solidarity with migrant neighbors.

We are honored to be in partnership with NDLON and the Pasadena Community Job Center in this sacred work of loving our neighbors.

We're honored to witness our community leaders' dedication to the Eaton Fire recovery. Pastor Amara, co-chair of the EFC Long-Term Recovery Group spoke to Disaster Case Managers at a recent training.

What if trauma could lead to transformation? Pastor Matthew Colwell shares a powerful message about post-traumatic growth in the wake of the Eaton fires. The early church in Acts 2:43-47 experienced their greatest moments of community, generosity, and spiritual power right after the trauma of Christ's crucifixion.

May we experience not just resilience, but post-traumatic growth. May we discover generous hearts and transformed lives in the wake of loss.

What would you say if you knew these were your final moments? More importantly, what will you do knowing you're fully alive right now?

Rev. Kathrine Lee Baker posed those questions to us last week at our monthly CCC Meeting.
May you walk into this season knowing you are not an accident. Your joy, your kindness, your very presence — these are not frivolous. They are sacred. You are made by the same Creator as the oceans, constellations, and wildflowers. You are deeply needed, fully loved, and always held by all that is sacred and wild.

Our Executive Director, Mayra Macedo-Nolan, attended the LA28 Olympics CEO Meet & Greet hosted by The Rose Bowl.

During the meeting, community members learned about community investment plans and the positive economic impact the Olympic Games will bring to the Greater Pasadena area.

The CCC is grateful for the invitation to be included in these early conversations. We are grateful for strategic, collaborative planning that will maximize the benefit to our beloved community on our journey of recovery from the Eaton Fire.
