What would you say if you knew these were your final moments? More importantly, what will you do knowing you're fully alive right now?

Rev. Kathrine Lee Baker posed those questions to us last week at our monthly CCC Meeting.
May you walk into this season knowing you are not an accident. Your joy, your kindness, your very presence — these are not frivolous. They are sacred. You are made by the same Creator as the oceans, constellations, and wildflowers. You are deeply needed, fully loved, and always held by all that is sacred and wild.

See you at the next CCC Meeting on June 10th!

Our Executive Director, Mayra Macedo-Nolan, attended the LA28 Olympics CEO Meet & Greet hosted by The Rose Bowl.

During the meeting, community members learned about community investment plans and the positive economic impact the Olympic Games will bring to the Greater Pasadena area.

The CCC is grateful for the invitation to be included in these early conversations. We are grateful for strategic, collaborative planning that will maximize the benefit to our beloved community on our journey of recovery from the Eaton Fire.

This fantastically good-looking, anointed, and diverse group of clergy enjoyed each other’s company while representing the CCC at the 53rd Annual Pasadena Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast.

This is the beauty of the CCC.

Our differences shape our perspectives. It strengthens our imagination and resolve, allowing us to see God’s Shalom as reality for our community.

Here we are joined by our partner, Miguel Santana, CEO of California Community Foundation.

The CCC is honored to partner with Hope Crisis Response Network (HCRN) on the first of the approximately 100 volunteer rebuilds they will undertake.

This would not be possible without the heart of the leaders of this incredible ministry, the generous funding partners they have brought together, and the essential community partners supporting this effort.

The CCC is thrilled to partner with HCRN and stand alongside Victory Bible Church, and other faith communities in the sacred work of accompaniment of our beloved families.

We celebrate this milestone for the Campbell Family!

Please join us for “Community Dialogue”

The CCC is joining with our local government officials and city partners to host a community conversation. This space will be designed to have an honest dialogue with our Pasadena government officials about the ongoing local policing regarding our migrant neighbors and how we can build trust between the community members and our local officials.

We will see you on:

"This week we were in Washington, D.C. with the Latino Christian National Network, joining clergy and organizational leaders from across the country to share the realities our communities are living. We lamented, grieved, shared of hope from our cities and neighborhoods, and prayed for wisdom for a nation in crisis.

Alongside California clergy and bishops, we went to Capitol Hill to make it known that the church cares about what is happening in our communities. Even without direct meetings, it mattered that our representatives’ offices saw faith leaders present and advocating for our neighbors.

For us, this was about Pasadena and Altadena. As our community rebuilds after the fires while many families live under the pressure of immigration enforcement, one thing is clear. The rebuilding of Altadena will not happen without the migrant community. Protecting our neighbors is not politics, it is part of our calling."

Today we remember and give thanks for the life of Rev. Dr. John M. Perkins—pastor, civil rights leader, teacher, and a prophetic voice who called the Church to live the gospel through justice, reconciliation, and faithful presence in community.

As co-founder of the Christian Community Development Association, Dr. Perkins helped shape a movement that has formed generations of Christian leaders committed to living out the gospel in neighborhoods too often abandoned by systems of power. His witness reshaped how many across the broader church understand discipleship, neighboring, and the pursuit of justice as central to following Jesus.

His influence spans the globe, but it is also deeply rooted here in Greater Pasadena. Through the faithful early work of the Perkins family and ongoing work of Harambee Ministries, his vision continues to live on as a pillar of hope, restoration, and community in our region.

SoCal folks - Stay tuned for a local event honoring JP's life and impact on our community.
