What does it look like to stand alongside immigrant families facing separation?

Join us on Thursday, October 29, for the first gathering in our three-part Solidarity Teach-In Series.

This first session will center on the realities immigrant families face, the importance of accompaniment, and how we can respond together. We'll share a meal, hear from advocates working alongside immigrant communities, and explore concrete ways to take action in solidarity.

This gathering is presented by Reconcile Pasadena, a partnership between the Center for Restorative Justice, Clergy Community Coalition, and Making Housing and Community Happen.

We hope you'll join us for an evening of learning, connection, and collective action.

To flourish means to hold loss and joy in tandem. The CCC encourages us all to navigate fighting for the resources and support for our neighbors while, at the same time, resisting the urge to bypass the grief and trauma that we have experienced as a community.

Scripture encourages us to bear each other's burdens (Galatians 6:2) and reject isolation in exchange for the gift of community.

The CCC is proud to be a part of this act of communal resilience. We're also proud to partner with La Fuente Ministries, Victory Bible Church, and Project Passion Inc. in supporting The Grief Stations and Ashes to Anthems.

The CCC is grateful for the opportunity to co-host the screening of “Jesus Was a Migrant.” Together, clergy, laypeople, and community organizers were able to create a safe space to learn about the ongoing realities of transcontinental migration, what socio-political factors lead to it, the realities of what it is like for migrants at the border, and what the Scriptures tell us about being a faithful witness to those who are seeking out a better life.

Thank you to the panelists: Pastor Roxanne Morales, Pastor Marcos Canales, and Dr. Soong-Chan Rah, for your expertise and vulnerability in these heavy conversations.
And thank you to John Williams and The Center for Restorative Justice for moderating the conversation and providing a framework to be hard on systems and soft on people. And a special thanks to First Baptist Church of Pasadena for providing the location for this dialogue to happen.

Eaton Fire advocates, congressional representatives, clergy, and faith leaders collectively proclaimed, "Keep the Promise. Pay the Bill.” at the DCMP Press Conference.

Fire survivors gave their testimony about their harrowing rebuilding process – from the financial sacrifices, the strain on their mental health and family wellness, and how the DCMP program has been an effective and, in some cases, life-saving resource for them.

The Clergy Community Coalition stands with fire survivors in compelling FEMA leadership to release the $10 million owed and promised to our neighbors and to treat California survivors with the dignity and expediency that they deserve.

The CCC is proud to be a part of the DENA RISEUP COALITION. This week, we traveled with more than 100 Eaton fire survivors and community leaders fighting to include the CARE Fund in the next spending bill.

We believe love is an action.

We believe the local church is called to pray, practice presence, and advocate alongside our neighbors. The restoration of our beloved community ravaged by the Eaton Fire will take all our efforts.

To the Capitol for the shalom of the city.
