Pasadena Covenant Church

Pasadena Covenant Church We are a community drawn to love. Pasadena Covenant Church is a multigenerational community of people who are seeking God and sharing God together.

If you’re searching for a new church home, have been away from church for a while, or have never been a part of a church before, we hope you will pay us a visit! Though we are part of the Evangelical Covenant denomination, we embrace those from a wide variety of church and non-church backgrounds. All questions are welcomed as we explore together what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

Check out this report featuring our beloved Properties Manager, Doreen!

In just a few sentences, she says many great things, emphasizing our desire for genuine community with our neighbors. So grateful to Doreen for the opportunity to get to know our friends from the Masjid Al-Taqwa and this beautiful community that is willing to explore what it means to be a neighbor in so many profound ways.

Masjid Al-Taqwa was lost in the Eaton Fire

Jesus says that the mustard seed grows into the biggest plant in the garden "so that the birds come and perch in their branches" (Matthew 13:31-32). This Spring we are addressing the question: "how do we widen our branches to our immigrant community?" To help us group deeper into this subject we invite you to join an Immigration Discipleship Forum. These forums are designed to be worship-filled spaces where we sing, listen to experts on various topics, reflect in small groups, and be invited to respond in tangible ways.

This Thursday, March 19th, we invite you to hear from Rev. Dr. Alexia Salvatierra, Academic Dean for Centro Latino at Fuller Seminary (among many other things).

This is our final forum:
March 19th - US Immigration History Matters

All of the sessions will be from 6:30 - 8:30pm in the Gym on campus.

Childcare will be offered.

These forums are open to all, so invite your friends and neighbors-- anyone whom you think would appreciate this discussion! Drop ins welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!

We are grateful to open our art in prayer room with a new installation by one of our very own, Joanne Doyle ! Started in the third century, the stations of the cross is a devotional practice of the church, inviting people to visit the sites of suffering where Jesus spent his last. Come and see, sit and reflect, worship and be transformed.

This morning, Pastor Steve preached about how disruptions wake us up to God's loyal love (khesed), and living out His love opens us up to His love. He referenced the ECC's resolution on immigration, published in 2014. Jesus says that the mustard seed grows into the biggest plant in the garden "so that the birds come and perch in their branches" (Matthew 13:31-32). This Spring we are addressing the question: "how do we widen our branches to our immigrant community?" At PasCov, we offer multiple ways to deepen your discipleship through this topic: first, by reflecting and responding to our sermon series "God in the Move", second, to serve at Mano a Mano food distribution, and third, by attending our forums. These forums are designed to be worship-filled spaces-- we will sing, listen to experts on various topics, reflect in small groups, and be invited to respond in tangible ways.

Here are the dates and topics:
February 12 - Practicing Biblical Solidarity
March 5 - Navigating US Immigration Law
March 19 - US Immigration History Matters

All of the sessions will be from 6:30 - 8:30pm in the Gym on campus.

"They described themselves as an 'entangled church'-- entangled with their neighbors, entangled with other churches, entangled with community organizations working together working together for the whole community... they see themselves as 'a community drawn to love.'"

I am so grateful that our denomination's (ECC) President Tammy Swanson-Draheim got to witness and participate (aka get entangled) in our community. And I am so proud of our staff, leaders, and congregation who continue to say "YES" to Jesus and His Kingdom! May we continue to do as he did, say what he says, and love those whom he loves (everybody). Dios es bueno! Todos el tiempo! Todos el tiempo? Dios es bueno!
